Author’s POV

The Jeon couple was utterly stunned when Dongwook announced his intention to end their sons' marriage.

“No! Please, don’t do this! You can’t make such a big decision for Jimin without even asking him if he's happy,” Go Eun pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation as she tried to convince the Parks.

But Minyoung remained unmoved, her expression resolute. “Go Eun, we've already made up our minds. We’re bringing Jimin back. That's final.”

“Please, Minyoung! You know that Jungkook would care for Jimin better than anyone. He loves Jimin so much—more than us,” Go Eun said earnestly, her hands clasped in a silent plea.

Dongwook met her gaze, his eyes glinting with frustration. “We know Jungkook cares for Jimin, but we didn’t marry Jimin off just for someone to take care of him. We wanted him to be truly loved. Yes, Jungkook loves him, but in what way? Like a brother?” Dongwook’s question pierced through Go Eun’s hope, leaving her speechless for a moment.

Go Eun took a shaky breath. “Dongwook, I know Jungkook’s love is complex, but I truly believe that he’s coming to love Jimin as his partner. Moreover, we know Jimin would never tolerate mistreatment. If he wasn’t happy, he would’ve called you by now, don’t you think?” Her voice softened, her hope shining through. “Please, at least ask Jimin what he wants before you make this decision. I believe he’s happy, and deep down, I think Jungkook is too.”

For the first time, the Parks seemed to waver, considering her words. Minyoung reached for her phone, her voice tense. “Fine, I’ll video call Jimin and ask him myself. We’ll know for sure if he’s truly happy.”

As the call connected, a smiling Jimin appeared on the screen. “Hi, Mom!” His eyes sparkled with genuine happiness, a sight that made Minyoung’s heart skip a beat. But as her eyes settled on him, she gasped, her hand flying to her mouth.

Go Eun and Gong Yoo exchanged worried glances and rushed over to see what had startled her. Their eyes widened in shock. Jimin’s entire neck was covered in hickeys.

“Eomma, Appa! You’re both here!” Jimin beamed seeing his in laws, seemingly oblivious to the visible marks on his skin.

“J-Jimin, what happened to your neck?” Minyoung stammered, barely holding her composure.

Jimin looked confused for a moment, but then a soft blush crept onto his cheeks as he remembered. “Oh… um… Hyung did that…” he mumbled, a shy smile tugging at his lips as he buried his face into a pillow, visibly embarrassed.

Dongwook’s face hardened, a mix of shock and protectiveness. “And where is that… son—”

“Papa!” Jimin interrupted, his eyes narrowing in a fierce, protective glare. “Don’t say anything bad about my husband!”

Dongwook clenched his jaw, struggling to hide his anger but softening at Jimin’s determined expression. “Alright, alright. Where is Jungkook?” he asked in a calmer tone.

“Hyung’s cooking in the kitchen. Hold on, I’ll go find him,” Jimin said, getting up with a slight wince, but he smiled through it and made his way to the kitchen.

As he turned the camera, the parents caught sight of Jungkook in the kitchen, shirtless, with wild scratch marks trailing down his back. Go Eun gasped, both in embarrassment and a bit of amusement, while Gong Yoo cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Hyung!" Jimin called out. Jungkook barely glanced over his shoulder, his attention focused on the sizzling pan in front of him.

"Jimin-ah, go back to the room and rest," he said softly, without looking at him. "You told me you’re still sore, so don’t overdo it. I’ll bring the food to you in a bit, alright?"
