Jimin’s POV

"Jimin... Ava… Ava isn’t just my friend. She’s my ex-girlfriend."

The words hit me like a punch to the gut. I froze, staring at him in absolute shock, my hand instinctively slipping out of his grasp. Betrayal and disbelief churned in my chest, quickly igniting into anger.

"Why did you hide this from me, huh?" I demanded, my voice low but laced with fury.

"Baby, it’s not like that," Jungkook stammered, his voice tinged with guilt. "I just thought… maybe you’d get jealous or something..."

His explanation only poured fuel onto the fire. Jealous? Was he serious?

"Me? Jealous of her?" I let out a bitter laugh, shaking my head in disbelief. "What exactly does she have for me to be jealous of, Jungkook hyung?"

"Jimin... please, calm down and behave," he pleaded, his tone almost scolding.

I glared at him, feeling my anger boil over. "Calm down? Behave? You want me to behave when you and your ex were acting so cozy right in front of me? Your own husband!" My voice rose with every word, cutting through the air like a blade.

Jungkook stepped closer, his arms outstretched to pull me into a hug, likely to calm me down, but I stepped back, holding up a hand to stop him. He let out a frustrated whine, but I didn’t budge.

"This is exactly why I didn’t want to tell you," he muttered, running a hand through his hair as if I was proving his point.

I stepped closer, grabbing his shoulders and locking eyes with him. "Listen to me, hyung. I don’t want to be a spouse who dictates your decisions. I don’t care if you’re friends with your ex, but if I ever see you act like that with her again—" My voice dropped, cold and steady, every word sharp with intent. "It’ll be the end of you both."

I watched his throat bob as he swallowed nervously, the weight of my words sinking in. Good. I needed him to understand just how serious I was.

Jungkook’s POV

"Hyung! I don’t want to be a spouse who dictates your decisions. I don’t care if you’re friends with your ex, but if I ever see you act like that with her again, it’ll be the end of you both!”

I swallowed hard at the seriousness in Jimin’s voice, nodding quickly. His fiery gaze left no room for argument. I knew in that moment that I couldn’t risk losing him. Cutting ties with Ava, though difficult, was a small price to pay for Jimin’s peace of mind. If it meant keeping him happy, then it was more important to me than anything else.

“So, why did you break up with her?” Jimin’s sudden question made my stomach churn. I stiffened, unsure of how to respond. Should I tell him the truth? Given his reaction earlier, I doubted he’d take the truth about our marriage well.

"That… I…" I hesitated, my mind racing for a convincing explanation. "We just didn’t… click well. So we decided to stay friends," I said, the words stumbling out of my mouth.

Jimin narrowed his eyes at me, his sharp gaze piercing through my weak excuse. "The way you two act around each other doesn’t make it seem like you didn’t click."

I met his eyes and forced a firm tone into my voice. "That’s the truth, Jimin." Hoping to steer the conversation away, I stood up abruptly. "Now sit there quietly, okay? I’ve got work to do."

Without waiting for his reply, I busied myself with the papers on my desk, pretending to focus while my heart pounded in my chest. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jimin reluctantly settle in his seat, his eyes flicking to his book but not missing the occasional glance my way.
