Past (7 Months Ago)

Author’s POV

Jungkook lay sprawled out across his bed, the soft hum of early morning air drifting in through the open window. His night shift had left him utterly exhausted, and his dreams pulled him deeper into the peaceful abyss of sleep. His face was soft, unburdened by the challenges of the waking world.

That peace, however, was short-lived. Small, mischievous fingers tickled at his sides, disrupting his slumber.

“Yaa, Jimin-ah, let hyung sleep,” Jungkook mumbled, his voice thick with sleep as he tried to burrow deeper into his comforter. A giggle—high-pitched and innocent—was all he got in response.

Jungkook, still half-asleep, felt the edges of his lips tug into a smile. He could never resist Jimin. With a swift motion, he turned, grabbed the smaller boy, and yanked him into bed, fingers quickly finding their way to Jimin’s most ticklish spots. The younger boy shrieked with laughter, his tiny frame writhing in joy under Jungkook’s relentless tickling.

“Yah! Hyung, stop! I can’t—” Jimin gasped between fits of laughter, his cheeks flushed a bright pink.

Jungkook finally stopped, his own laughter joining Jimin’s as they lay side by side on the bed, catching their breath. A peaceful silence settled between them, the remnants of their playful moment lingering in the air.

“So, what’s this little duckling doing here so early, huh?” Jungkook asked, turning to look at the younger boy beside him, his voice playful but filled with curiosity. “Don’t you have class today?”

Jimin, still giggling, shook his head, his eyes bright. “I do, but I was lazy today. And my mom wants to see your eomma, so we’re going shopping!”

“Ah, I see... Another shopping trip. And here I thought you’d be buried under textbooks.” Jungkook chuckled, already picturing their moms dragging Jimin from one store to another. He ruffled the younger boy’s hair affectionately. “So, what’s the grand plan for today, Your Majesty?” Jungkook asked, sitting up and bowing dramatically like he was addressing royalty.

Jimin’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Let’s watch movies with ice cream!” he exclaimed, bouncing on the bed, his energy infectious.

Jungkook shook his head in amusement. “Ice cream in the morning? What are you, a gremlin?” He stood up, stretching his limbs before making his way to the bathroom. “Alright, let me freshen up first. Don’t go eating all the ice cream before I get back!” he teased, leaving Jimin laughing behind him.

As Jungkook stepped into the shower, the warm water cascading over his skin, his mind wandered to the bond they shared. It was deeper than just family. Jimin had always been his little shadow, his greatest source of joy. But there was a bigger story behind their closeness—one that spanned years.

-----------------

Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook had been inseparable since they were kids, the kind of friendship that nothing could break. Though their families came from different worlds—Gong Yoo’s humble, middle-class upbringing, and Dong Wook’s life of privilege—it didn’t stop them from forging a bond that was more like brotherhood. They shared everything—hopes, dreams, and later, their future.

When they were in college, they met Jeon Go Eun and Park Min Young, two women who shared a friendship as tight-knit as theirs. It wasn’t long before love blossomed between the two pairs, and after graduating, they sealed their fates by getting married on the same day.

But their love didn’t stop at their partners. They loved their wives so much that they both decided to adopt their wives’ family names—Jeon and Park.
