Jimin’s POV
I woke up with a heavy heart, not because Jungkook hyung stayed out all night or came home drunk, but because something about his behavior recently has made me feel like I’m becoming a burden to him. Maybe it’s all in my head… or maybe not. I sighed, trying to shake off the sadness. Forget it, Jimin. It’s just your silly thoughts! I have shopping plans with Hobi hyung today, so no more gloomy thoughts.
After Hobi hyung finished getting ready, we headed to my apartment so I could change. He helped me pick out an outfit, and soon we were off on our adventure. The shopping trip was a blast! Hobi hyung took me to every little hidden gem in the area, making the day all the more exciting. Afterward, we returned to his place and made some snacks, laughing as we cooked together.
As evening came, the doorbell rang, signaling that they had returned from work. I practically ran to open the door, causing Hobi hyung to chuckle at my enthusiasm. But my smile instantly faded when I saw Jungkookie hyung’s face. There, on his right cheek, was a glaring red handprint. I gasped, my heart sinking.
“Hyung, what happened to you?” I asked, stepping aside to let them enter and immediately inspecting his cheek, my concern growing.
“It’s nothing, Jimin-ah,” Jungkook said, trying to smile, but the wince that followed gave him away.
“What happened?” Hobi hyung’s voice held the same concern as mine as he turned to Yoongi hyung for answers.
“A crazy girl slapped him,” Yoongi explained with a sigh, his tone calm but laced with annoyance.
Hearing this made my blood boil. Who dared to hurt my Jungkookie hyung? “Hyung! Who was it? And why did she do it?” I asked, confused and angry.
Jungkook waved it off. “It’s no big deal, Minnie. It was my fault. I made a mistake on a project, and she got upset and slapped me.” Yoongi shot him a look I couldn’t quite understand.
“But still! She had no right to do that!” I said, upset that hyung was brushing it off so easily.
“It’s okay, Jimin. I’m fine. Let’s not dwell on it,” Jungkook reassured me, gently changing the subject. “How did your shopping go?”
I hesitated for a moment before nodding, sensing that he didn’t want to talk about it anymore. “It was fun, hyung. We found so many cool places!” I said, deciding to let it go for now.
After dinner, we headed back to our apartment, and as we settled in for the night, Jungkook turned to me with a playful glint in his eyes. “So, what had my Minnie so upset this morning?” he teased, his tone light but curious.
I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. “It was nothing, hyung! Just forget about it,” I mumbled, embarrassed that I had even thought I was a burden to him.
Jungkook’s expression shifted to one of concern. “Come on, tell me. Do you not like it here? Are you unhappy?” His voice was serious now, and the worry in his eyes made my heart flutter.
I couldn’t resist anymore. I walked over to him and plopped down on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck and burying my face in his shoulder. For a moment, I felt his body stiffen at the sudden contact, but then his arms found their way around my waist, holding me close.
“I’m okay, hyung,” I whispered. “I just felt a little lonely. You’re always so busy, and you haven’t taken me out to explore much.”
Jungkook chuckled softly, his breath warm against my cheek. “I see. Well, since tomorrow is the weekend, how about we spend the whole day together? I’ll take you everywhere you want to go,” he said playfully, giving my cheek a gentle pinch.
