LIZZY'S P.O.V.

Once out of the hotel room, I found the farthest bed and breakfast, paid for a room and hurried inside. How could this happen? I trusted him. I love him and this is what happens. I get cheated on. What was I thinking? How could I have given him another chance?

No, I can't blame myself. He is the pig. He's the one who cheated. He's the one who was willing to throw it all away for some mission and some slut. I can't believe this. I wish I could just wake up and have this all be some nightmare.

TIME SKIP- 1 MONTH LATER

CIEL'S P.O.V.

The mission was finally over, finally done. After what had happened with Lizzy, I found another way to complete the mission without using Putain.

Today, I was going to go see Lizzy. I am determined to win her back. I know I messed up. Mostly everything she said was true. I treated her horribly. She had every right to be angry at me. I know what I did wrong but I don't want to lose her. I love her and I know she loves me.

I can't lose her. I won't give her up. She's the only one for me. I can't imagine my life without her. I don't want to let her go, not now, not ever.

I knocked on the door to her Manor, flowers in my hand. She may hate me, but that doesn't mean I won't do anything to win her back.

Her mother answered the door. "Ciel, come in.. Come in." Francis led me inside and into the lounging room. Soon enough Elizabeth and her father joined us. Elizabeth took a seat beside me, but never once looked at me.

"Elizabeth told us what happened in France. We think you two should talk things through. You should discuss everything." Her father said before him and his wife left the room.

I don't know what to say. "Why are you here?" Lizzy looked at me for the first time today. "I told you. I don't love you and I have no intention of marrying you."

Her words hurt more than I'd like to admit. "Because I love you amd I'm sorry. What can I do to make it up to you."

"Nothing. Look... I love you, but I can't take you back. You hurt me one too many times. I don't want to be with you anymore. We can stay in touch but.. I can't be with you anymore, I just can't. I am done with you."

"But you just said you loved me. We can't just end it like this."

"Maybe you can't, but I just can't do this anymore. We can be friends but nothing more.. I will only talk to you for the sake of my parents. I can't stand you."

I sighed. Keeping her in my life was better than nothing, right? It is not enough, I know that when she moves on. When she finds love again, when she walks down the aisle with someone else, I won't be able to take it. "Alright, that's fine.." I don't want to lose her and I'm just happy that she isn't cutting me out completely.

She stood up and so did I. I held out my hand for a hand shake amd she smiled sadly. We shook hands then I picked up my flowers. I handed them to her and she frowned once they were in her hands.

"Well, I'll see you around." Lizzy smiled at me but it still seemed sad. I didn't smile back. Without her by my side, there was no reason to. I ruined the only good thing in my life..

"Alright. Goodbye, Elizabeth." I called her by her full name for the first time in who knows how long. Lizzy smiled at me once again then I soon walked away, making my way out of her manor.
