HANTAI'S P.O.V.

I charged towards Ciel with my dagger in hand, we fought for what seemed like ages. A dagger vs a sword, not very smart on my part, huh?

Finally, Ciel pinned me down, holding his weapon to my throat. "Listen Hantai, Elizabeth is on her way now to come say who she chose. So, I'll let you live--for now. Whether I like it or not, you're her bestfriend. Now, do you swear to not attack?"

With a sigh, I nodded and we both stood. I tossed my dagger aside and suddenly the door opened, next thing I know, there's a sword in my chest.

I gasped, looking down at my wound, before dropping to the floor. Elizabeth suddenly was at my side, holding my hand. "No, no, Hantai..." Tears filled her green eyes as she looked at me. I coughed, a bit of blood spilling out of my mouth.

"Lizzy, I love you... And I know I don't have much time to speak anymore.." It was getting harder to breath each second, I know I don't have long.

"Promise me that you'll always remember me..." Cheesy, right? Oh well, I'm on my damn deathbed, who cares? "And that you know how much I love you."

I noticed that she began to cry, and I reached up with one hand, wiping away her tears. "I promise... I want you to know how special you are to me, and I trust you with my life. You'll always have a special place in my heart. I love you Hantai, you're my bestfriend..."

I smiled faintly, bringing her closer. I leaned in and kissed her cheek. "I love you, Elizabeth." I whispered. "But you don't belong to me.. I guess I'm not meant to have a happy ending..But I don't care because I had the chance to love someone as wonderful as you.." I leaned in and stole one final kiss from her, as she tried to pull away, I brought her in closer, only for a moment though. "I didn't deserve your love. I am so sorry."

I pulled away then, hugged her. "I'm sorry, Elizabeth for all the trouble I caused..."

She interrupted me, "No, you were there when no-one was. Thank you, goodbye Hantai.."

I smiled at her then I shut my eyes...

ELIZABETH'S P.O.V.

"Hantai..?" I said softly as he shut his eyes. No response. "Hantai?!" No response again. Tears poured out of my eyes like a waterfall, my bestfriend was dead. Ciel killed Hantai. My fiancé murdered my bestfriend.

I simply sat on the floor and cried, sobbed into Hantai's shoulder. The one person that seemed to help me through everything was gone. He was gone--dead. After what seemed like forever of crying, I stood up and walked over to Ciel.

He had simply been standing there, probably unsure of what to do.. But he killed him. The man I love killed my bestfriend.. "How could you..?" I spoke in a shaky voice. "He was my bestfriend... Over the phone I told you that I wanted to work things out with you, yet you still killed him. How could you do that to me?"

"Elizabeth, it was an accident, I promise. I didn't mean to. I tried to throw my sword to the floor and it him instead. Elizabeth, I'm sorry." He seemed sincere. But that didn't change the fact that my bestfriend was dead.

Tears began to pour out of my eyes once again, and I found myself sobbing once more. I just lost the one person who was always there, even when my fiancé wasn't there.

Ciel pulled me into a hug, and if I wasn't so upset, I would have pulled away.. But right now all I did was cry into Ciel's chest, holding him close. "I'm sorry Elizabeth, I really am...."

I don't care if he's sorry right now. Right now, I just want to cry right now.

After a long while, when I calmed down, Ciel pulled away a bit to talk to me. "Can I get you anything?"

I found myself feeling angry when I saw him, sad and angry.. He killed my friend. "No, I'm going home..." I sighed then slowly pulled away completely, wiping away my remaining tears. "I have to go.."

I then walked away, leaving the room..

-Timeskip-

The next time I saw Ciel was at Hantai's funeral about a week later. Hantai had no family, his butler and I arranged the funeral. There was no invitation sent out to Ciel. Seeing him at the funeral made me somewhat hurt.

At the funeral, I cried but I was the only one who did. Hantai, my friend was dead and gone. But it seemed that I was the only one who cared...

I have no clue what to do now. I can't look at my fiancé without wanting to cry. My bestfriend is gone.... Things will be fine, right?
