I sit at the table, working on my photography assignment. My phone beeps and I look at the screen. I see that Cameron and Jamie have posted pics of each other. I smile slightly. Even though I hate the group, I can't imagine what Jamie went through. Miscarriages are so hard. Halsey sits next to me, glancing at the screen.
"Oh, wow. I thought they'd have broken up by now. I'm surprised they are still thriving." She says. I look up at her. "I mean, they both have just gone through something very traumatic. Miscarriages are no joke. I feel somewhat bad for Jamie. That baby would've been loved dearly." I reply. Halsey raises an eyebrow. "Maybe it's karma for all the bad stuff they've done." She comments. I shrug, switching off my phone and turning to her. "Have you finished your shoot yet? I want to see the outcome, baby." I ask her. She shakes her head. "Stuff like that takes time, Zack. And with our podcast, filming videos and helping Mum out with the babies? I worry I'm not going to make it in time for mocks. I'm stressed out to the max." She pouts, and I kiss her cheek. "You'll make it. You are stronger than you think, Hallie. Much stronger." She smiles at that. "How are the babies?" I ask. Halsey grins. "Emma and Jack are the most precious babies I've met! I'm a very proud big sister!" She giggles. I laugh, kissing her gently. Halsey kisses me back before pulling away. "No, Zack. Focus on your project!" She scolds playfully. I pout, going back to my project. "I wasn't gonna do anything! Promise!" I say. She rolls her eyes. "Sure!" She smacks my arm playfully.
