(5:00PM)
We watch as Maxine and Ashlee fly across the floor, laughing and shouting with each other.
Riley shakes her head, turning back to us. "They are absolutely mental, that group." She says. I nod. "Maxine is so over the top sometimes. It's not necessary." I agree. Caleb shrugs. " I don't care. At the end of the day, they're not hurting me in anyway shape or form. So why should I ruin their fun?" He says, his arm wrapped around me. "Yeah, but she's being dramatic. And Ashlee was way too close to Daniel. Like, give the man some space." Halsey says, giggling. Caleb frowns. "You should take your own advice, Halsey. It would work wonders." He comments. Halsey looks at him. "What's that suppose to mean?" She asks. Caleb sighs. "You're luck obsessed with my dad. Do you have a crush or something?" He asks. I giggle, then cover my mouth. Halsey looks at him, tears in her eyes. "It's not my fault your dad doesn't love you." She says. Everyone on our table goes quiet. Lizzie and Joel look at Halsey in shock. Caleb has a couple tears in his eyes. "Wow. Thanks, Halsey." He says quietly, standing up and storming out. I look at Halsey. "You fucking bitch. It's bad enough you take my boyfriends parents away from him. But then to say that?" Halsey flinches. "You're out of the group." I say coldly. Riley gasps. "Melody, you can't!" She says. I roll my eyes, standing up and heading outside.
Caleb is sat on the steps, crying silently. I sit next to him, kissing his cheek. "Baby, I'm sorry..." I say. Caleb kisses me hard, picking me up and putting me in his lap. I gasp, but then kiss him back. He stands up with me in his arms, taking me inside and heading for the toilets.
(5:30PM)
We walk back out, sitting back at the table. Halsey looks at Caleb. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-" Caleb interrupts her. "I don't want your apology. I don't care." He says. Halsey nods. "You can be in the group. The others would turn on me anyways if I kicked you out." I say. Riley looks at me. "No we wouldn't!" She exclaims. I look at her. "Halsey just my boyfriend that his parents hate him and prefer her. I wanted to kick her out for that and you said no." I state calmly. Leo and Zack are silent. "The only reason why he is so calm right now is because he fucked my brains out in the bathroom. Sexual anger is better than normal anger. Be grateful he didn't snap your neck." Riley gasps. "Melody Weber! What the hell?!" Mom hisses at me. I ignore her. "Are you really that surprised? Where do you think all that noise comes from, Mom?" I say. Mom grabs my arm. "Watch your language." She says. Caleb kisses my cheek. Luna and Oli come over. "Caleb, we need to talk." Oli says, looking extremely angry. Caleb nods. "As long as Melody comes with me. "Fine." Luna says through gritted teeth. The four of us head outside.
"What do you think you are playing at, young man?!" Luna shouts. Caleb flinches, and I wrap an arm around his waist. "It's okay, baby. You're in a safe space. I'm standing next to you, baby." I assure him. Caleb shrugs. "I'm not playing at anything, Dad." He replies. "Really? Because fucking your girlfriend in the toilets at a wedding reception isn't nothing!" Oli shouts. "Stop fucking shouting!" I yell. Luna looks at me. "Young lady! You do not swear at-" Mom runs out, grabbing me by the arm. "MELODY WEBER, I SWEAR TO GOD!" She yells in my face. I step back. Mom looks at me before looking at the floor. "Mels, I'm sorry..." She says. I ignore her. "Caleb, let's go back to the hotel." I grab his hand and we get into a taxi.
