Hey guys! I hope you enjoy the read. Please, after, go take your time and read my new DeAndre Jordan story, "I See You." I just uploaded the first chapter today, and it is a must-read! It's going to be great!
Shit," Monica James cursed under her breath, as she stubbed her toe for the third time in the past hour. Carrying heavy weights was not a specialty of hers, due to her slim figure, upon no muscle, this was way more than an everyday chore.
"Did you stub your damn toe again?" Monica's sister, Desiree, called from the kitchen. Monica huffed in annoyance at her sister who had been sitting on her ass the whole time Monica had been carrying overweight boxes into her sister's mansion, and what would be her new abode. Barely.
Monica had been forced by her parents to leave her glorious life in LA behind, to move to a quaint city like Oklahoma City, to hold a job at the family accounting firm. Due to a spending spree that went way out of hand, Monica's parents were making her work off the money at the firm, not to mention leaving her superstar rapper boyfriend behind, Big Sean. She was already in a shitty mood, but being taken away from him, that was the icing on the cake.
Desiree was overjoyed to have Monica returning home, let alone living in the same home together. It was going to be like old times. However, Monica thought different. She was head over heels in love with LA, and in her books, Oklahoma couldn't even compare.
"Can you hurry up with all your damn boxes?" Desiree called from the kitchen, "I'm getting sick and tired of hearing all that racket."
"Then maybe you should help!" Monica shouted back the hint. She knew Desiree was not going to come and help. She threw her last box into the house, slamming Desiree's ten foot high wooden door shut. She put both of her hands on her hips, taking a deep breath. Now she just had to figure out a way to get them all upstairs.
"Monica," Desiree called, walking towards her. She appeared around the corner, extending Monica's iPhone to her. "Sean is calling you. Do you want me to call some movers to come and get all this stuff set up?"
"Yes, please!" Monica told her, accepting Sean's call. She stepped outside into the warm night air, not quite the same as Los Angeles. "Hey, babe," She greeted him, trying to make her voice sound as cheerful and enjoyable as possible.
"My Monica James sounds very stressed," his voice calmed her almost immediately. Sometimes Sean could drive her insane, but she knew he always meant well, and when they were together it brought out the best in both of them, especially in her.
"Your Monica James is more than just stressed," she admitted. "I hate it here, I want to come home."
"I offered to pay off everything you spent, but your parents are stubborn. They really want you to learn a lesson," Monica heard him sigh on the other end. She added a frustrated huff towards her parents actions.
"You're going on tour soon," she pouted into the phone.
"Right, and I am spending two extra days in Oklahoma City with you," He cooed, adding a laugh. That seemed to calm her nerves a little. "In two months, I'll see you." Monica trusted Sean, he was a great guy, unlike most rappers and always respected her and her decisions. He was the best boyfriend a woman could ask for. But without her there she new the temptations of the fans and groupies not only in LA, but he was going on tour. This was going to be harder than she could imagine. There was some talking on the other end of the line and some scuffling. "Baby," he began and Monica already knew what it was.
He had to go either into a meeting or back to the studio. "I have to go back to the studio. I love you! Talk later?" Monica rolled her eyes and balled her fist by her side. He hung up before she could even say anything."Love you," she pouted, bringing the phone to her side. This was going to be way harder than she could possibly imagine. Two months without Sean? She could barely go a week without his presence.
"How's he doing? Everything okay?" Monica heard Desiree's agitating voice behind her. Monica spun on her heels and walked past Desiree.
"Everything is completely fine," She said through her teeth, storming off. Oklahoma City, she would have gone anywhere but Oklahoma City. With her stupid family that made her want to stab herself repeatedly and her annoying little sister that never stopped talking. Ever. Monica walked up into what was now going to be her bedroom for the next year. At least her clothes were already in the closet and in her dresser. Monica was a model, that just happened to have an accounting degree, which was all from her family. She was all about LA, the fame, the money, everything. What was there in Oklahoma? She grasped her pajamas and made her way into the bathroom, turning the shower water as hot as it could possibly go. The water burned, inflaming her skin, but took her mind off the tears that were already spilling down her makeup-filled face.
