"You look stunning," Russell commented, eyeing me up in down in a black lace dress with a plunge down the middle. I had my hair curled to perfection, with dark lips to accompany my look. Tonight was the night we were having dinner with my parents along with Sean and Desiree. It wasn't the most appropriate dinner for my parents to meet Russell, but I wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. He pecked at my cheek and I thanked him. He looked so dapper in his suit and he wasn't wearing anything wild tonight, which I was thankful for.
"You look so nice, and I really owe you for going to the dinner and meeting my parents despite our non favorite guests," I rolled my eyes, but smiled. Russell clapped his hands together and snapped his fingers in nervousness.
"I am so nervous to meet your parents," I had never seen Russell like this, but it was oddly pleasing to know he was human.
"My Dad loves basketball," I explained, "He has your jersey and he told me how excited he was to meet you. My mom loves fashion. Everything fashion. You got this covered." This made him smile a little more. "And as for Sean and Desiree, pretend they just aren't even there." I traced his jaw, licking my lips, "remember, good boys get treats..."
"I'm hard," He admitted, giving me a kiss on the lips. "Why do you tease me so?"
"Because I love you, that's why," he smiled, satisfied, and gave me a kiss. "Only sometimes, though."
"It's okay, I only love you 11% of the time," He joked back. I raised my eyebrows and crossed my arms. "Just kidding. 110%. Even when you open the door for my ex-wife."
"Did I mention I'm sorry about that? I didn't know you wanted her to come in, I thought..."
He cut me off before I could continue my apology, "Tonight is your night, our night, let's not talk about... her." I nodded in agreement, as I took his hand and intertwined our fingers. "God, Monica, you look so beautiful. I just wanna feel you right now. It's driving me crazy." I laughed and smiled, giving him a small wink. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be thinking like that..."
"Russell, you're my boyfriend! It's okay. Stop with the whole, 'No having sex' gig, it's freaking me out. Sure, something traumatizing happened to me, but I still love you and I want to make love to my boyfriend and I will do it tonight no matter what."
"No matter what?" He stuck out his pinky finger. I took it with mine and held them.
"No matter what." I looked at my phone to see we only had twenty minutes to get to my parents house. "Shit, we have to go." He nodded and followed me to the car, slowly. I could tell Russell was pretty nervous. He opened the door for me as I stepped in the passenger seat, as he closed it and walked to the other side, getting into the drivers seat.
"Keys... Wallet... Phone..." He muttered to myself, feeling all over his pockets.
"Russell, look at me," I told him. I rested my head against the seat, looking at him dreamily. He was kind of cute when he was freaking out, what could I say? He looked at me, giving me a small smile. "My parents aren't monsters. Sure, my sister is and my mom is... something else, but they will like you. I promise."
"I'm just afraid they aren't going to understand how much you mean to me. I'm scared they are going to think I am Sean," He took a deep breath. "I will do everything I can to prove to them how much you mean to me."
"My parents know about how our relationship started out, but they are extremely accepting people," I reminded him. "My Dad has cheated on my mother quite a bit and their marriage has been through the mill. My sister is pregnant with my ex-boyfriend's child. Trust me, they are used to weird situations. This will be no different. I promise you." He kissed my forehead and turned on the car.
