The morning in Samui was so peaceful, with the pure early sunlight shining through the streets. Engfa had just seen her friends off to the boat, then hurried to Charlotte's café. Soft music played in the background, and the café was warm, filled with the subtle aroma of coffee. Engfa stepped inside, holding a small box and a gentle bouquet of white roses, her heart excited, knowing that what she was about to do would surprise Charlotte.
As Engfa entered the café, she saw Charlotte sitting by the window, her eyes gently gazing outside, her face thoughtful but still radiating softness. This moment made Engfa's heart stop. She knew the person sitting there was not just her lover, but someone who would one day help her care for their small family—someone she trusted completely. With each step she took closer, Engfa could feel her heart beating more clearly.
· "Charlotte..." Engfa softly called, causing Charlotte to turn, her eyes lighting up with joy.
· "Engfa..." Charlotte smiled, her smile as gentle as the first time they met.
Engfa placed the bouquet and the small box on the table, her eyes gentle but full of unspoken feelings. Charlotte looked at the roses, her eyes filled with emotion. She reached out and gently touched each white petal, as if trying to feel the love Engfa had put into it.
· "Do you like it?" Engfa asked, her voice soft and warm.
Charlotte looked up at Engfa, her gaze tender but also a little surprised.
· "Why white roses? You know I like red ones..."
Engfa smiled and gently took out a small card from the bouquet, handing it to Charlotte. "White roses symbolize pure love, simple and unpretentious. I want you to always remember that, no matter what happens, I will always be here, the one you can rely on."
Charlotte looked at the card, feeling each word soak into her heart. She took Engfa's hand, her eyes misty with emotion.
· "You always surprise me, Engfa."
They sat quietly for a moment, just looking at each other in the warm space of the café, as if everything around them disappeared, leaving only the two of them in that moment. Engfa gently pulled out the letter she had prepared earlier and handed it to Charlotte.
· "Here, read this. But... take your time. I'll sit here and wait for you." Engfa said, her voice blending with the soft music playing from the corner of the café.
Charlotte opened the letter, and Engfa's words appeared before her eyes. She read each sentence with deep attention. Charlotte smiled, her heart melting with each word in the card. Then she noticed a longer letter underneath, Engfa's handwriting appearing sincere and close, making her heart flutter:
My love,
Perhaps in these past few days, you've been surprised and wondered about the small gifts I've sent. Yes, I wanted to create this series of surprises because it's been too long since we shared intimate moments like before. I want you to understand that my love for you will never fade, no matter how much time passes or how many challenges and misunderstandings come between us.
Do you know, since the day we were apart, I've missed every detail about you—the gentle smile, the sparkling eyes, and the moments of pure happiness when we were together. Every morning, the first thought in my mind is of you. The memories between us keep appearing little by little, like a long film I never want to look away from.
You once asked me why I liked white roses. I remember telling you that they represent pure love and loyalty. But that's only part of it. White roses are the flower I think is perfect for you. You are the longing in my heart, the one I am willing to wait for, no matter the time or distance. You know, nothing is more regrettable than losing the one you love because you didn't dare to express your true feelings.
