           "Happy mother's dayyyy." Mimi and Jade yelled at the same time as soon as I opened the door. "Well thank y'alllll." I smiled and stepped to the side. I watched as they walked in with pink and white bouquets of roses, balloons and other stuff. Growing up I absolutely HATED Mother's Day. I was jealous of all the other kids because I didn't have a mom to celebrate with. "Just a few things from us and Nomi." Jade smiled as I closed the door. "Well thank y'all and Nomi." I hugged them. "Okay hereee, open your gifts." Jade beamed as we all made our way to the living room and sat down.

"Y'all know y'all don't have to do this every year right?" I looked between the two of them as I started removing the tissue paper from the first bag. "Yes we do now shut up and hurry." Jade said that so fast I almost didn't hear her. "Jade!" Mimi popped her. "I'm sorry. I meant don't tell us what to do." "Much better, and yeah don't tell us what to do. We know we don't have to but we want to. You was pregnant right?" Mimi tilted her head and asked. "Yes." I nodded. "Exactly so you somebody momma, happy Mother's Day. Nie open the gifts." Jade gestured towards the bags.

I rolled my eyes and continued pulling the tissue paper out. The first bag had a bunch of makeup products I had told them I wanted and a sweet card from Jade. "Awww Jayyyy." I fanned my face after I was done reading what she wrote. The next bag was a pink Stanley cup and an orange one, some pink UGG slippers and a hand written card from Mimi. "Every year y'all make me cry with these cards." I wiped the few tears that fell. "We love you so much baby." Jade got up and hugged me, Mimi was right behind her. "And I love y'all more, this really means so much to me." I hugged them back.

"You still coming to the Mother's Day brunch?" Jade asked as we pulled apart. "If you not feeling up to it trust me everybody will understand." Mimi finished wiping my tears and said. "Yes I'm still gonna come, I gotta give mommy them they gifts." I nodded. "Okay well we about to go start getting ready." Jade started grabbing her belongings. I walked them to the door and held it open. "Let us know if you want us to come get you." Mimi turned and looked at me as they walked out the door. "Okay I will. I love y'all, be safe."

           "I love you too." Mimi kissed my forehead and kept walking. "I love you more baby." Jade blew me kisses. I watched them leave then I closed and locked the door. "Who was out here?" Dae stood at the railing rubbing his eyes. "Mimi and Jade." He stared at the Mother's Day balloons, gifts and cake. "It's sum you gotta tell me?" He raised his eyebrows. "Boy no." I started laughing. "They get me gifts every Mother's Day for the baby I lost."

            "Well happy Mother's Day bae." He hugged me and gave me a kiss. "Thank you baby." "Hold on, let me go get yo gift." He took his arms from around me and jogged down the hallway. He dipped into one of the rooms. A minute later he came out the room with a stack of money and held it out to me. "For meee?" I smiled as I grabbed it. "Ouu and all hundreds, thank you baby!" "You know it's anything for you." "Thank you so much my love. Now I gotta start getting ready." "Where you going?" "This lil annual Mother's Day brunch." "Type shit." He nodded.

              "I'm taking Mani, my auntie and grandmas out to eat in a lil bit. I had flowers delivered to the house and I got them a new purse and shit." "Awwe my dae dae is so sweet! I love the way you are with them." "I was raised by them, it's only right. And Armani look after our lil brothers like she had em." "The sweetest boy." I kissed his cheek and made my way down the hall to my hair room. As I sat in the mirror wand curling my hair I thought about the days leading up to my miscarriage.
