"You don't know, do you?" she said, looking at me with excitement in her eyes. Before I could speak, she interrupted, "We all work for Mr. Madden, Chloe said, out loud." Giving her my best fake smile, I said, "Oh wow, I've got to go congratulate him."
"Don't worry, Ms. Madd- Gadsdon, there's already a car outside waiting for you," she said. Cooper never let me have my own, he wants to be the reason for my success. I was fine with the SDR position, my mind wandered as I looked out the window.

"I know your Father is disappointed," I said to Josie as she walked me into Cooper's office. "Mr. Madden, your fiancé is here," she said, looking me up and down.
"You can be excused," I said to Josie. That girl never liked me because of Cooper. It's funny how she would do anything to get under him. She looked at Cooper for permission, he gave her the signal to go before walking out. "Oh, and Freya, I would say the same about your father, but he isn't here to see the mess—" and before she could finish, I slapped her and she was stunned.
Just go, Josie," I said, pulling Freya into my hold. "That wasn't very professional of you," I said, looking her in the eyes. Freya was startled, saying, "Making a girl you fuck your assistant is unprofessional."

"Why would you do that, Cooper?" she asked, looking into my eyes, waiting for an explanation. "I saw an opportunity and I took it. That's how I bought the company. I had to get her father on my good side. Now, I'm your boss," I said as my hand slid down her hair.
"Now I don't have to worry about you going on a business trip with that old man. I never gave you a reason not to trust me. No matter how many times you shut me out and turn your back on me, I was still there, hoping you would come back to the Cooper you always were," I told my friend that this is all new to him, and he will balance it out.
But the man standing in front of me, I don't recognize. she said, trying to hold back the tears that wanted to escape her eyes.

"You're so fucking ungrateful. If it wasn't for me, you would still be working in SDR. I give you the best, and you still complain. You're never satisfied with what I do. I told you I was happy where I was at, Cooper, you're the one that's disappointed. You know the blogs will talk, so why put me in that situation?" she asked.
"Because I care. No wife of mine will make calls all day," I said with a harsh voice. "You win," she said, about to walk away before I pulled her into a kiss. It was something we both needed so badly, taking control over her body as my tongue slid down her neck. "Don't even think about it," she said, pushing me away.

"Eat," he said, looking at me across the table. "I don't have an appetite," I muttered. "Nelle spent a lot of time on this food. There are people out there who wish they had something to eat.

You're being ungrateful as usual," Cooper said with a dark, cold voice. "Please don't turn this into something it's not. I'm hurting," I said as tears filled my eyes. "And you don't even care. You're acting as if I didn't just have an abortion."
"Please forgive me for not eating the food. But right now I feel like a bad person. I don't even want to live anymore," I screamed, overcome with emotion. "Why do I deserve a chance at life? Don't touch me because it's your fault. Cooper, I wanted my baby," I cried. "Freya, calm down. You're starting to hyperventilate.
We will get through this. We have been through worse," he said, administering a shot into my arm, making my eyes heavy. This was the second time I had to give her this shot. It had no side effects; it was only meant to help you.
