"Don't forget you have to go look at wedding dresses with my mother," he said as we sat at the dining table. "Don't remind me. You know I love Ms. Delilah, but she talks my head off. I think she loves the fact that we're together more than the reporter does," I laughed. "She can't be that bad."
Come with us, then," she said, with a smile. "She will kill me if I take y'all girl time away." Laughter filled the air as we enjoyed our lunch.

What was in that pill you gave me?" I ask Waylon, sitting on his couch. "Just a little something to take your mind off things," he said jokingly. "I put my hands on her, bro," I said with a dark voice.

The room suddenly got quiet until my best friend Waylon decided to speak. "I'm sorry, I was just trying to help. Is she okay?" he asked. "Yeah, she seems fine, but I don't know what's actually going through her mind because right now she's acting like everything is normal.
I did overhear June on the phone talking about Freya, how she's worried about her and something about her not being the same anymore. "When was this?" I ask. "Just this morning," Waylon replied. "After she left my house last night, that explains everything," I said, trying to puzzle everything in my head. Freya was talking to her about our problems and June did get upset because Freya wasn't sad about some of the things she did.
"And how would you know all this if you were with me?" Waylon asked, confused. "I've got eyes everywhere," I said while getting ready to leave. "Tell your girlfriend to mind her own business. I would hate to go that far," I said, closing the door behind me.

"Where would you like to go, sir?" Miguel asked as I got into the car. "The old spot," I told him in code words. I always had to stay one step ahead of everyone else, just when they think they know my next move, they don't.

"Yes, Ms. Delilah, I love that one too," I say with a smile. "We would like to try this one on also," she said, handing the wedding dress to the workers. "Who spends so much on a dress they're going to wear for one night?" I say out loud, looking at the price tag. "My son wants you to have the best, sweetie," she said while fitting the back of the dress on me. "You look lovely," she said as we both looked at the tight dress that showed every part of my body. "Don't you think it's too revealing?" I ask her. "No, it's perfect, showing the world how lucky my son is," she said, sounding like a proud mother.

Things like this were supposed to make me excited, but I wasn't feeling the joy that everyone else had. Maybe because I never wanted this to begin with. It was all placed in front of me and I had no choice but to say yes. I knew that day I would never escape from his hold, maybe that's why he did it.

"Where the fuck do you think you're going?" he drags me back into the car by my hair. "Cooper, let me go," I yell as he holds me in his grasp. "I said I was sorry, it wasn't supposed to happen like that," he says, still holding me. "Just let me leave, why do you want to keep hurting me?" I cried. "Go back to the girl who was trying to touch all over you in your office. Let me be with someone who's actually going to love me," I said, trying to search for hope in those evil eyes of his.

But there was nothing, he just held me there until I calmed down. "I told you it wasn't what it looked like," he said with a deep voice. So what do you do when your boyfriend from college keeps cheating on you but doesn't want you to be with anyone else? How was I supposed to live without him when he was everything I knew?
All the lies he told me made me stay, and I know I might sound stupid, but you've never been in my shoes to try and tell me how to walk, I thought to myself as tears slowly escaped from my eyes. My grandma Lara always said, "Make the best of every situation," so that's what I did. I learned to live through the pain, even if that meant losing my old self along the way to find the new me.
The next morning, we went out on a date and the reporters couldn't get enough of us. There were cameras everywhere and the lights blinded my eyes until I looked to the right and saw that Cooper wasn't there.
