"Come here, darling," I said, pulling Freya even closer. "I love you," I whispered into her ear before kissing her neck. "I love you too," I replied to my baby girl as I felt her kick. "Let's not give your momma a hard time," I said, gently rubbing my darling's belly.
Seeing Freya smile made me feel a little better, but I knew deep down that behind that mask, she was fighting a real battle between grief and hurt. It kills me that I can't help her, and knowing that I can only make it worse weighs heavily on my heart. I was going to tell her about my son, but after she finds out about her grandfather, I would only be adding fuel to the fire. Our relationship has come so far, and I want to go forward, not backward. As we stood there, wrapped in our own little world, the sound of laughter floated in from the patio. I turned my head to see Milo and Chloe joking around, while Tessa and Waylon were setting up a game of beach volleyball nearby.
"We should join them," Freya suggested, her eyes brightening at the thought of some friendly competition. I nodded, knowing how much she loved the beach and being surrounded by friends. I would do whatever to keep my darling happy, even if it meant playing stupid volleyball.
"Hey, you two!" Cooper called out, his voice booming over the sound of the waves. "Ready to get your ass kicked?"
"Not a chance!" Milo shot back, smirking. "You'd better bring your A-game, Cooper."With that, the games began. Chloe and Milo teamed up against Freya and me, while Tessa and Waylon added to the fun by forming their own team. The sun beat down on us, and laughter filled the air as we dove for the ball and tried to outscore each other.
Freya was surprisingly agile, and I found myself trying to keep up with her enthusiasm while also being cautious of her condition.
After a few rounds, we took a break, collapsing onto the warm sand, our laughter still echoing. I looked over at Milo and Chloe, who were playfully bickering about the last point. "You're lucky I carry you in this relationship," Milo teased, and Chloe rolled her eyes.
"Please, it's my strategy that keeps us winning," she shot back, nudging him with her shoulder."You let a pregnant woman play better than you," Milo joked.
"I'm going to regret it later," Freya said as she took a sip of her water.
Just then, Grandma Lara appeared from the house. "I just wanted to let y'all know dinner will be ready soon. Nelle did an amazing job."
"Don't forget about me! I helped too," Anna said with a smile.
"Yes, you too, sweetie. Thank you so much, Mr. and Mrs. Madden, for allowing me and my daughter to be here. This view is too amazing not to share," Nelle said
"Let's head back in," Freya suggested, and I nodded, helping her up from the sand. As we walked back toward the house, I just couldn't help myself as my eyes wandered to places they shouldn't. Cooper she says in an embarrassing voice as my hand touches her butt. "Sorry, I just couldn't help myself."
"Get a room!" Milo yelled as Freya rolled her eyes playfully.

"Cooper, can you please stop trying to be nasty and just rub the lotion on my leg?" I say with a laugh as his pouting face makes me laugh hard. "I bet everyone else in the room is having the time of their lives while my wife worries about everyone but her husband," Cooper says in a sassy voice. "Don't worry, because after dinner, we have the house to ourselves again."
"What about Lara?" I ask.
"She's going to the other house with Nelle and Anna," my husband says as I look at him."What? They're getting along really well, and she knows it's our honeymoon."
"I can't with you," I say as I fix my black dress that makes my stomach look so big. She is growing every day.
Everyone is seated, and the food looks amazing. I know the Madden family probably wants a boy because there aren't many girls on that side, but Camila and her mother Delilah are the only ones I got to know well. "As you know, my beautiful wife is with child, and we want y'all to be the first ones to know before it hits the media. We are having a girl," I say as Chloe screams so loudly out of excitement.
"Congratulations! She's going to be so tough," Milo said, hitting me on the shoulder.
"I can't wait to tell my family the news," Enzo said, pulling his sister Freya into a hug.
