"And Summer, do you want to know the funny part of that story? Despite the pain you caused me, I remained a true friend to you. I kept our past a secret from Cooper, even when I was in the hospital, because I wanted you to be happy, even if it meant betraying me.
I allowed him to believe I had ghosted him just so you could have him all to yourself. It was painful to watch you two together, but as expected, it didn't last. Summer, you created this mess, and now you must lie in the bed you made all by yourself. Was our friendship truly worth losing over a boy? It wasn't. I wish I could go back in time, but I can't," Summer cried. "I forgive you," I said, pulling her into a hug but I will never forget.

I opened my heavy eyes and licked my chapped lips, only to hear beeping in my ears. "You're finally awake, dear," the nurse said, adjusting my heart monitor. "June," I whispered softly, realizing she had been there the whole time. "What happened?" I asked, noticing the cast on my leg. "You passed out when you were running and hurt your leg. Don't worry, it isn't broken, but you can't run for the rest of this track season," the nurse explained while checking on my leg."How long was I out?" I asked, noticing June sitting in the chair nervously. "Only 24 hours, but there's something I have to tell you, but I don't want you to worry about it," June said, as I looked into her sad amber eyes, waiting for an answer. "Summer hooked up with Cooper the night of your track meet. Why would she do that? She knew I liked him, I told y'all everything," I said while looking at my best friend. "Because she's not a true friend," June answered.
"The only thing I can do is be happy for her," I said, looking down at my lap. "Freya, you have a right to be mad," June said, holding my hand. "It won't get me anywhere but hurting and hating, so let's see how this plays out. What's meant for me will come eventually. If it doesn't, it was never mine to start with."

Cooper, you're hurting me," she said as I tightened my hand around her neck. "Stay the fuck away from her," I yelled with a cold, dark voice. "I only wanted to make things right," Summer cried out as I let go of my grip. "I've got Freya exactly where I want her. Screw that up, and that will be the end of you." "One of these days, all the hell you did will catch up to you, and when Karma does, it won't miss," she said, about to exit my office. "Tell that bitch I'll be waiting," I said with a laugh.Suddenly, there was a knock on the door as it opened and Summer left. "Mr. Madden," Josie said as she walked in with my father. "Mr. Harrison is here to see you," she said as she exited again. "What do you want?" I asked him as he looked around my office. "That's not how you talk to your father, is it?" he asked, holding my jaw tight.
Snatching my head out of his grip, I asked, "You a question?" I said with a harsh voice as I looked into his evil eyes, not scared of the devil that stood in front of me. "That's the son I raised. You make me a proud father," he said while hitting my shoulder.
"Do you know Greyson Smith?" My father asked me as he sat in my office chair. "Yeah, the police officer," I added, trying to see where he was getting at. "He knows about the weight we've been carrying through your business. That isn't possible," I said before my father interrupted me. "It is when your bitch is his friend," before I knew it, I had a gun to his head. "Her name is Freya, fucking respect it. Do you understand?" I asked him, pushing the gun hard against his head. "Yes," he said with a calm voice.
"I will take care of it. You can leave now," I said, opening the door for the man who made me who I am today. "I wish your other brother acted more like you," he said, exiting my office. I couldn't stand the ground that man walked on.
I thanked him for being a father to me, but he was as cold as hell. The worst part about it was that I'm his twin, so we never got along, no matter what. "Cancel any meeting I have this afternoon," I told Josie before leaving the building.
