I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS OR THE BASE STORY.

Chapter 1
It was the first week of August, and Jackie was packing her belongings to move into her dorm in the next few days. It was time for her to take a break from acting and focus all her attention on getting a degree.

Jackie's POV
It was first day of school. For some reason, I decided not to pick one of the universities in California. Oh wait I do know why. I couldn't be near my mother. So here I am in Indiana, all the way across the country. It feels good to take a break from acting.

I was sitting across from Professor Hecht's, while he assigned me my fall semester classes.

Prof. Hecht: (Sitting behind his desk, completing Jackie's papers.) Kirk, Jacqueline... I'm gonna assign you to Psych 110 since that's the prerequisite for everything else. Next semester, if you decide to double-major you can beef up your psych classes. Ok?

Jackie: (Sitting comfortably across from Prof. Hecht) Ok. Sounds good.

Prof. Hecht: (Looks at Jackie for a brief second) It says here your first major is English. Do you want to go ahead and declare that?

J*I was about to answer when she walked in. Her presence took my breath away for a moment. I think she was a teacher here.

Prof. Stark: (Walks into Hecht's office. Acts like she has not seen Jackie yet.) I have the 209 syllabus. Can I just leave it with you?

Prof. Hecht: (Focuses his attention on Stark) Yeah, thanks. Longest wait list in the entire department once again,. I don't know how you do it.

J*She was about to leave when our eyes met. The way she looked at me. I couldn't stop staring.

Prof. Hecht: (turns his attention back to Jackie) Do you have questions for me?

Jackie: (Snaps out of his daydream about Stark and answers Heck's question) No. No, sir.

Prof. Hecht: (Stands up and hands Jackie her papers) Here is your schedule for the fall, and a copy of your student manual. I have to tell you- my wife and I really loved your show. We never missed an episode.

Jackie: (Stands up and takes her papers from Heck's hand) That's very nice of you to say. Thank you, Professor Hecht.

Prof. Hecht: You're welcome.
