JACK POV:
Time continued on once again, and we continued to practice together as a class daily. Things were almost going too well... However, I have a plan in place to keep everything from going downhill.
My plan hinges on the participation table. Kushida's plan is probably something along the lines of giving our participation table to Ryuen so he can get the most favorable matchups for his class.
Based on our class results we had come up with the optimal order and the optimal amount of events for each person. Unfortunately for my classmates, their ability to adapt and adjust on the fly will be tested.
The first stages of my plan began 3 weeks ago when the sports festival was announced.
FLASHBACK
Chabashira: What can I do for you, Jack?
I was on the roof talking with Chabashira.
Jack: I wanna buy something with points.
I have an abundance of points to spend. After summer vacation where I earned 500,000 from the Zodiac Exam and then 1,500,000 from the qualifiers, I was rolling in it.
Chabashira: Oh? And what might that be?
She spoke with intrigue.
Jack: I want to pay for the right to be the one to turn in the participation table for the sports festival.
She chuckled.
Chabashira: You don't have to pay for that.
Jack: What? I don't?
She shook her head.
Chabashira: No, you don't. All you have to do is just ask me. As long as you're the first to ask and I agree to your terms, then I'll be forced to go through with them.
Jack: Oh... Well, then can I be the only one allowed to submit a participation table?
Chabashira: Sure.
Perfect.
Jack: If anyone else gives you a participation table, pretend to take it, and then shred it.
Chabashira: Alright, sure.
FLASHBACK OVER
From there it was just the waiting game. Once our table had been decided based on everyone's results during our practices, and the table was created. It was my time to strike. Kushida had offered to turn in the table herself because she was oh so kind, but in reality, she was going to take a picture of it and send it to Ryuen.
Kushida almost got me when she offered to take the table to Chabashira herself. Hirata wasn't aware of my plan, but he did know I planned to turn it in. Meaning he almost inadvertently revealed that I was planning something, which could've thrown everything off.
The key word there is almost. I was able to give him a signal in time to tell him to let it go. He understood and nodded at me. With that out of the way, my plan could be realized in full.
