Travis's POV

The locker room is buzzing with excitement as my teammates crowd around, celebrating the win. The echo of claps and shouts is deafening. I should be focused on the game, on the adrenaline that comes with a hard-fought victory, but my thoughts keep drifting elsewhere.

Taylor.

I can hear her laughter already, that soft, melodic sound that seems to seep into everything. I know she's out there somewhere, probably backstage, waiting for me to make my exit. I've gotten used to the idea that she's as much a part of my life now as football, but tonight feels different. Tonight, the world feels like it's moving in slow motion, like everything's focused on her.

I find myself glancing at my phone again, hoping for a text. It's not like I'm desperate for a message, but the idea of hearing from her makes everything feel a little bit more complete.

As if on cue, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I don't bother with the team's high fives or the celebratory hugs, my eyes are locked on the screen.

Tay: I'm so proud of you. You were amazing out there ❤️

A grin spreads across my face.
Travis: I've got a surprise for you after this. Stay tuned 😉

I tuck the phone away and take a deep breath, forcing myself to focus on the moment. The guys are all hyped, talking about the next game, and I can't help but grin along with them. But all I want is to get out of here, get to her, and finally let go of the tension that's been building all night.

As the locker room clears out, I make my way down the hallway. The lights flicker above me, the sound of shoes against the polished floor echoing in the quiet space. My heart beats faster with every step. I know she's waiting for me, but the anticipation feels almost unbearable.

When I reach the back entrance of the stadium, I spot her immediately.

She's standing there, glowing under the dim lights of the parking lot, looking effortlessly stunning in a simple black leather jacket and ripped jeans. The wind catches her hair, making it tumble softly over her shoulders. Her lips curl into a smile when she sees me, and I can't help but feel a wave of relief wash over me.

I jog the last few steps to her, barely able to keep my hands from reaching out.

"Hey," I say, my voice low. "You look..."

"I know," she teases, giving me a sly grin. "I think I nailed it right?"

"You did," I reply, letting my hands rest on her waist, pulling her in closer.

She laughs softly, and I can feel her breath against my cheek. "I'm proud of you, Travis. Seriously, you were incredible out there."

I smile down at her. "Thanks. But you know, I can't do it without the best cheerleader in the world."

Her eyes soften, and she reaches up to brush a stray lock of hair out of my face. "You're the best."

For a moment, we're both just standing there, basking in the silence between us, the hum of the night air surrounding us. The rest of the world feels far away, and all I want is to stay here, in this bubble of happiness, with her. But the desire to be close to her is stronger now than ever before.

"Got a little surprise for you," I murmur, my lips brushing against the top of her head.

She looks up at me, her expression full of curiosity. "A surprise? What is it?"

Before I can answer, I lean in, capturing her lips with mine. It's slow at first, just a gentle press, but then the electricity between us sparks and my hands are on her waist, pulling her closer. I can feel her heart racing under my touch, and it only makes mine beat harder.
