Travis's POV

I stood outside the door, my heart thumping in my chest. I had no idea why I was so nervous—after all, I've played in front of thousands of football fans, faced the media, and dealt with all the attention that comes with being in the spotlight. But meeting Taylor's family? That was a whole new level of pressure.

I hadn't expected this to feel so... serious. It wasn't just meeting someone's parents, it was meeting the family of one of the most famous women in the world. A woman who, despite all her fame, was still grounded, funny, and more than a little unpredictable. A woman who had become my best friend, my confidante, and, in the past few months, the person I was falling for. Hard.

It felt like everything in my life had led to this moment.

I reached for the doorbell and pressed it. The sound echoed through the hallway, and I had a moment to think about running. But before I could overthink, the door swung open, revealing Andrea, Taylor's mom. She was smiling warmly, her face full of kindness. She looked exactly like I'd imagined, elegant, yet down-to-earth.

"Travis, it's so nice to finally meet you!" she said, pulling me into a hug before I had a chance to say anything. Her embrace was warm and genuine, and for a moment, I felt like I belonged. "Come on in, I'm so glad you could make it tonight."

"Thank you for having me," I replied, feeling my nerves start to calm a little. "I've heard so much about you."

"Only good things, I hope?" Andrea teased with a wink as she ushered me into the house. Her home was cozy but beautiful, with soft lighting and family photos lining the walls. It felt inviting, comfortable, and definitely not the kind of place where I imagined I'd meet Taylor's family for the first time.

"I'm sure everything Taylor says about you is glowing," I said, trying to sound confident, though I felt a little out of place.

Andrea smiled. "I'm glad to hear that. Taylor talks about you a lot, too, you know." She motioned for me to follow her down the hall. "I'm sure you two are just as busy as always, huh?"

I nodded, rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeah, you could say that. But we make it work."

As we rounded the corner, I heard Taylor's laugh, a sound that always calmed my nerves. When I walked into the living room, there she was, standing in front of the fireplace, smiling at me.

There was no mistake about it—this was the woman I was head over heels for. In the middle of all the chaos, the fame, and everything that came with it, Taylor was still the one who made me feel like I was the only person in the world. I couldn't believe I was finally here, standing in her family's home, about to sit down for dinner with her.

"Hey, you made it!" Taylor said, crossing the room quickly to wrap her arms around me. Her hug was the best kind of relief, warm, comfortable, and completely real.

"I wouldn't miss it," I said, holding her a moment longer than necessary. "How are you?"

"Good, a little nervous for you," she teased with a grin. "I know you're gonna get grilled by my mom."

"I can handle it," I said, trying to sound confident, though the thought of being grilled by Andrea and her best friend, Abigail, was a bit intimidating.

Taylor chuckled and grabbed my hand, leading me to the dinner table. "Don't worry. They're just excited to meet you."

The dinner table was set with soft candles and a beautiful spread of food, pasta, salad, and a few sides that smelled absolutely amazing. As we sat down, I tried to ease into the conversation, though my nerves were still alive and kicking. Taylor squeezed my hand under the table, her fingers brushing mine comfortingly. It was little moments like that that made me feel more at ease.
