Chapter 361: The Fear Dictated by Cuihua

"Cuihua! Do not be disrespectful to Great-Grandmother!" Wang Daozhang, usually doting on his granddaughter, frowned as he admonished her to mind her manners.

However, Ye Wenxin was not concerned with the girl's attitude. Upon hearing the name Cuihua, she couldn't help but laugh. Seeing that Ye Wenxin wasn't upset, Wang Daozhang quickly tried to smooth things over, introducing the two.

"Great-Grandmother, this is my granddaughter, Wang Cuihua. Cuihua, this is Great-Grandmother. Don't be rude; kneel and pay your respects." Wang Daozhang's expression was one of helplessness, while Cuihua, curious, stared at Ye Wenxin as if trying to find something extraordinary about her.

Eventually, Cuihua remarked with disdain, "What's the big deal? She looks just like any regular person. I thought she'd have three heads and six arms." Wang Daozhang was even more irked by this, standing to bow respectfully to Ye Wenxin, "Apologies, Great-Grandmother. My granddaughter is young; please forgive her."

"It's alright. After all, I'm just a fourteen-year-old girl myself," Ye Wenxin chuckled, not taking Cuihua's words to heart. If she got upset with every provocation, she would never find peace.

"Great-Grandmother is truly magnanimous. Wang is deeply impressed," Wang Daozhang continued with his flattery, which Ye Wenxin found a bit exhausting. Observing everyone busy around them, she rose and suggested, "Since night has fallen, let's take a stroll."

Wang Daozhang quickly intervened, "Great-Grandmother, please dine first. We've prepared a vegetarian meal for you." Although she wasn't hungry, curiosity about the meal's composition compelled her to nod in agreement.

As they stood to leave, Ye Wenxin suddenly remembered she had left the umbrella sword on the table.

"Come here," she called to the umbrella sword, but it didn't move. Frustrated, she changed her approach, "Dinner time." Instantly, the umbrella sword flew over, securing itself in its sheath.

From the umbrella sword emerged two ghostly girls, appearing around ten years old. It was the first time Wang Daozhang and Cuihua had seen the spirits, and they watched with intrigue.

The sword spirit was calm, while Ghost Mother was different. Upon hearing about dinner, she wrapped her arms around Ye Wenxin's neck, seeking yin energy. Ye Wenxin tilted her head, gently stroking Ghost Mother's horns to pacify her.

Ghost Mother complied, having been spoiled by the last kiss with Ye Wenxin, and now insisted on feeding through kisses. Ye Wenxin, already numb to the process, didn't feel embarrassed, but seeing the others watching, she signaled Ghost Mother to behave.

"Ahem, Great-Grandmother's interests are indeed extraordinary," Wang Daozhang observed, recognizing the unusual bond between Ye Wenxin and the spirits. He envied her, thinking of his own spirits, who were burly men, unlike Ye Wenxin's.

"This is feeding, not a hobby," Ye Wenxin clarified with a forced smile, vowing to avoid wrestling with others in front of Ghost Mother lest she pick up more habits, which could lead to endless antics.

Ghost Mother, aware that people could see her, begrudgingly retreated into the umbrella sword, followed by the sword spirit.

The trio continued outside to a table where Hei Haowen and Gu Xiangsi awaited them. The dinner was modest yet decent, and the Yique Sect disciples were visibly reserved, except for Cuihua, who chatted freely.
