Looking again, Heitong descended and casually tossed the stolen tokens onto the ground.
"Count them," she said, ceasing her attacks and standing guard against any nearby threats. Seeing this, Gu Xiangsi resignedly began counting the tokens.
"A total of one hundred eighty-three."
"Great, let's get out of here," Heitong replied without hesitation. Though Gu Xiangsi seemed a bit incredulous, she handed the extra eighty-three tokens to Wenwen.
"Sorry, we have to leave first." With those words, Gu Xiangsi crushed her token. It signaled the host, who flew over on his sword to verify.
"I declare we have our first contestant advancing to the second round."
Not even a stick of incense's time had passed, and the crowd's attention focused intently on Heitong.
While Heitong's speed was astounding, collecting one hundred tokens was proving arduous for others. The Hunter Leader and Wenwen were busy in a flurry of activity, while Ye Wenxin and Xuan Luofei found a corner to settle in. Perhaps due to the golden pig's low presence, most were targeting visibly stronger beasts or those with more tokens.
"And now, the second contestant advancing to the second round is announced." Soon after, a second beast advanced. Ye Wenxin glanced up to see Luo Hong with the beast tamer, seemingly using the ring's power to easily collect tokens.
The beast tamer wore a smug smile, glancing at Ye Wenxin before leaving. For some reason, Ye Wenxin felt he had left her a "gift." It wasn't long before her suspicions came true.
After the beast tamer's departure, all the beasts moved toward Ye Wenxin, their expressions menacing, as if intent on seizing tokens from her.
"Sister Xuan, get on!" Ye Wenxin called to Xuan Luofei. Though she couldn't see, she sensed danger and quickly mounted Ye Wenxin's back.
In an instant, several fierce beasts lunged, but Ye Wenxin dodged, causing them to collide with each other with howls of frustration. Yet, they weren't after tokens; they were specifically targeting Ye Wenxin. If this wasn't deliberate targeting, Ye Wenxin didn't know what was.
"I wanted to keep a low profile and enter the second round later, but it seems I have no choice but to advance now," Ye Wenxin muttered helplessly, leaping to dodge a few more attacks.
"That golden pig is really agile! Look, it's flying, it's actually flying!" the host shouted, directing all eyes to Ye Wenxin.
Standing on a flying sword, Ye Wenxin initially intended to avoid attacks, not to draw attention by hovering. Yet, she ended up showcasing a flying golden pig.
"That pig can fly on a sword?"
"Wow, I can't even fly a sword myself!"
The crowd buzzed with disbelief, thwarting Ye Wenxin's efforts to stay unnoticed. Resigned, she lowered Xuan Luofei to the ground, saying, "Sister Xuan, wait here."
