Chapter 541: Making a Move!

The currency for the auction was spirit stones, and these demons seemed to possess special access to enter Liucheng, creating a sealed town where humans or cultivators could only enter, not exit. Even if Ye Wenxin left now, she wouldn't find a way out of Liucheng's boundaries. Clearly, escaping the academy didn't mean she could leave Liucheng altogether.

Realizing this, Ye Wenxin knew she had to deal with the troubles posed by Wen Susu and the fox spirit.

With this thought, a sense of urgency crept into her heart. Before she could ponder further, she heard a commotion outside. Peering out, she saw the fox spirit and the red fox fighting again, with the crowd cheering them on. This was an instinctive animal competition; despite their human forms and improved cognitive abilities, they still retained their primal ambitions.

The innkeeper watched anxiously, wanting to stop the fight but too afraid to intervene, choosing instead to stay aside and watch. Others, too, dared not get close, forgetting the original reason for the brawl amidst the chaos. Ye Wenxin pretended to know nothing until the noise subsided, and the innkeeper called her over.

"Take this to the Tianzi room," the innkeeper instructed, pointing at the drinks and signaling Ye Wenxin to deliver them. She nodded, noticing the red fox cursing nearby. She seemed worse off than before, having lost another ear after her transformation, looking even more comical.

Seeing Ye Wenxin glance her way, the red fox's eyes filled with spite, a sinister smile playing on her lips as if plotting something malicious to disrupt the balance. Ignoring her, Ye Wenxin headed upstairs to the Tianzi room, knocking gently.

"Come in," came the calm voice of the fox spirit, who seemed unharmed despite the recent fight. Pushing the door open, Ye Wenxin saw a fleeting shadow. The fox spirit was covering herself with clothes, blood staining the floor, indicating that while she severely injured the red fox, she herself was also hurt.

Despite her speed, the fox spirit's seven tails were unmistakably visible. Ordinary eyes couldn't see such changes. Ye Wenxin set the items down, intending to leave.

"Wait," the fox spirit called out as Ye Wenxin was about to exit.

"Is there anything else I can do for you?" Ye Wenxin asked, maintaining a respectful distance to avoid any slip in her performance.

The fox spirit hesitated, seemingly unsure why she called out to Ye Wenxin, then pointed to some medicine nearby, saying, "I'm injured. Could you help me apply some medicine?" She gestured to her forehead, lightly bruised from being pressed against the wall during the fight.

"Of course," Ye Wenxin replied, stepping forward. Observing the crude medicines, she realized how primitive the demons' medical knowledge was but proceeded to assist.

Standing at five feet tall, Ye Wenxin appeared petite next to the fox spirit, who stood around five foot seven. She carefully applied the medicine, while the fox spirit watched her, her breath warm and ticklish against Ye Wenxin's skin.

Beyond that, the fox spirit's gaze was intense, as if Ye Wenxin were her prey. Her hand lightly stroked her back, eyes filled with a hint of longing. She seemed to struggle with an unusual feeling, perhaps influenced by Ye Wenxin, ultimately leading her to let Ye Wenxin leave.
