Chapter 691: Guardian of the Flower
Her voice trembled slightly, carrying a hint of flattery. Fengya Fairy did not turn towards Sword Ghost but continued to silently watch the sleeping Ye Wenxin.
Though only a few hours had passed in the illusion, it felt like years had gone by in their consciousness. During this time, Fengya learned more about Ye Wenxin, yet nothing significant occurred between them.
Fengya was incapable of becoming involved with anyone due to her cultivation technique, which required her to remain emotionally detached. She wouldn't abandon her ideals for anyone.
With this in mind, she paused her half-raised hand and transformed into Wangzai's persona. It wasn't fear that halted her gesture, but the presence of an interfering woman that night.
Soon, Fengya saw Lin Jue in her male guise.
Despite the seamless Yin-Yang Transformation Technique, it had no effect on someone like Fengya, who saw through Lin Jue's love for Ye Wenxin effortlessly.
"Wangzai, you're still awake?" Lin Jue was startled to see Fengya awake but quickly smiled and greeted her, placing a basket down.
The food's aroma wafted from the basket. Even after descending the mountain, Lin Jue never forgot to ensure Ye Wenxin was fed. Fengya observed this quietly, then glanced at the deeply sleeping Ye Wenxin.
She had planned to leave after administering the medicine to Ye Wenxin, but Lin Jue's presence made her decide to stay longer to prevent any sly actions in her absence.
"I bought some fruit. Would you like some?" Lin Jue awkwardly offered, unused to interacting with Fengya. Unbeknownst to her, Fengya had never forgotten Lin Jue's warning from their past encounter.
Even though Fengya was indifferent to most things, Lin Jue's words lingered in her memory. Seeing Lin Jue reappear in Ye Wenxin's life stirred something within her.
This unfamiliar emotion was unsettling, though Fengya managed to control it. Fortunately, Zhu Ling Fairy wasn't around to misinterpret her feelings.
Fengya withdrew her gaze indifferently. Lin Jue, trying to build rapport, continued, "Wenxin said you like spiritual fruits. I bought some for you. Would you like to wash and eat them?"
Lin Jue even produced a basket of spiritual fruits, hoping to distract Fengya and secure time alone with Ye Wenxin.
Fengya took the basket and left. Lin Jue breathed a sigh of relief, hoping to wake Ye Wenxin and personally give her the trinkets she had bought.
No matter how much she called, Ye Wenxin remained unresponsive. Worried, Lin Jue checked her pulse, relieved to find Ye Wenxin merely exhausted.
"Could it be overexertion?" Lin Jue wondered, glancing at the frozen Nether Insect on the table. Alarmed, she summoned the Hehuan Bell, ready to eliminate the strange creature.
The insect appeared menacing but posed no threat, so Lin Jue relaxed. She retrieved a book from her storage bag, searching for information on the insect but found nothing.
Confused, Lin Jue checked Ye Wenxin again, about to touch her when someone reappeared.
The silent approach startled Lin Jue until she recognized Fengya. "Wangzai, what cultivation technique did you learn to move so silently?"
