Chapter 371: Why Aren't You Enchanted by Me?
The fluffy sphere, seeing no place for itself on either side, decided to settle directly on Ye Wenxin, carefully drawing a few sips of yin energy to sustain itself.
The next morning, when Ye Wenxin opened her eyes, she felt an unusual weight on her body. To her surprise, she found a black fluffy sphere on top of her. Alarmed, she asked Ghost Mother why the spheres had multiplied, and why there was now a black one.
"Fluffy spheres can reproduce on their own," Ghost Mother lazily replied, drawing closer to seek more yin energy from Ye Wenxin. With a shiver, Ye Wenxin noticed Ghost Mother's form had grown larger. She glanced at Sword Spirit, who seemed unwilling to move, and teased, "Master, why don't you try finding the Yin Yang Pearl again?"
With that, she raised her skirt, implying she had thoroughly enjoyed the previous night. Ye Wenxin struggled to maintain her composure, but as dawn was just breaking, she nodded and said seriously, "Spread out a bit more. Let me check the Yin Yang Pearl's location."
Ghost Mother chuckled, entwining herself like a snake, displaying her enchanting allure. Ye Wenxin seemed mesmerized, and Ghost Mother, noticing this, changed her hand into a ghostly claw. Her deep green eyes glowed slightly as she stroked Ye Wenxin's back, then swiftly aimed for her heart.
Ye Wenxin screamed, but Ghost Mother only found a flower left in her grasp, her intended target vanished.
"Stop dreaming; I'm not that easily bewitched," Ye Wenxin said, already dressed and brushing her hair, rolling her eyes at Ghost Mother.
Ghost Mother was momentarily stunned, cursing, "Why aren't you enchanted by me yet?"
Ye Wenxin observed the faint red aura around Ghost Mother, reflecting, "If you're not enchanted by me, how could I possibly be enchanted by you?"
Moving swiftly closer, she pinned Ghost Mother down, her fingers probing for the Yin Yang Pearl's location. Unlike the gentle touch of the previous night, her smile was now cruel. "Hmm, you've hidden the Yin Yang Pearl quite deep. Let's see if you can hold out longer or if I find it first."
From her inherited memories, Ye Wenxin understood Ghost Mother's nature. Since their encounter in the secret realm, Ghost Mother had shown two contrasting reactions. Ghost Mother resisted, unwilling for Ye Wenxin to find the Yin Pearl, but Ye Wenxin was relentless. Despite her efforts, the Yin Pearl eluded her, like a game of hide-and-seek.
Yet Ghost Mother, tormented by Ye Wenxin's persistence, let out a high-pitched cry before fainting and dissolving into a wisp of smoke, retreating into the umbrella. Sword Spirit, watching Ghost Mother's self-sabotage, shook her head, saying, "Master, don't be angry. After Zhong Tianshi separated us, all the negative effects concentrated on Yueyue."
Ye Wenxin merely smiled, turning to the bright Sword Spirit, "But, Sword Spirit, if I took your Yang Pearl, would you hate me?"
Sword Spirit shook her head, "Of course not. I hope Yueyue and I can both reincarnate. Maybe taking the Yang Pearl will free me."
Ye Wenxin hadn't expected Sword Spirit to desire reincarnation, and was surprised. However, Ghost Mother's attachment to the mortal world was too deep, likely thwarting Sword Spirit's dream. Even with their thoughts and desires separated, the two spirits would ultimately need to merge to leave the mortal realm.
