How one learns to resolve their self hatred is a journey changed from person to person. No two stories are the same, and there is beauty in that chaos. For Siobhan, the view of herself she held was given to her by her shitty childhood. Her father’s control of her life as an adult kept her stuck in the mindset that who she was would never be enough for anyone else, let alone herself. The world around her kept changing, her lack of movement or personal growth didn’t change that. But luckily for her, she got to grow alongside a woman who loved her from top to bottom, flaws and all. As the sun shone into the hotel room that morning, Siobhan smoothed out her dress in front of the mirror with a sigh. She poked at her hips, squeezing her skin between fingers.
“This dress was a massive mistake.” Siobhan grumbled as she walked into the bathroom.
“Do you not know how to knock?” Vivian poked her head out of the shower with wide eyes. Siobhan rolled her eyes and reached for her earrings.
“Do you not know how many times I’ve seen you naked?” Vivian ripped the shower curtain closed with some quiet grumbled obscenities. “I look like a Greggs sausage roll in this dress.”
“It’s a real good thing that you’re going to Autumn’s wedding then. That woman lives for her sausage rolls.” Siobhan slammed her hands down onto the counter.
“Are you agreeing!?” Vivian shut the water off, reaching out to grab her towel.
“I’m saying I will have to keep my eye on you so Autumn doesn’t run off with you instead of Marjorie.” She stepped out with the towel wrapped tightly around her body. Siobhan’s jaw was still dangling open. “No, Siobhan. You don’t look like a bloody sausage roll. You look stunning.” She reached up to hold Siobhan’s hair back so she could fasten her earring.
“I feel like I’m going to show up and they’re going to send me home for violating the dress code.” Vivian nearly dropped her towel with how hard her shoulders fell in annoyance.
“Do you not think before words come out of your pretty little mouth? They’re just going to be happy you’re even in attendance.” Vivian reached around to the back of the door to grab her suit off the hook. “Plus, we match.” Vivian shimmied her pants on with a grin. Siobhan stood against the counter with a smirk.
“Fine, you win. But you better hurry up and get dressed. We are going to be late.” Siobhan walked back out towards the bedroom.
“Wh- ? Siobhan, it’s 9 AM! We have HOURS!”

The whistling of the wind through the trees created a melody that Siobhan wished she would never stop hearing. Freedom was in its finest form as she stepped out of the car outside of Marjorie and Autumn’s wedding venue. Vivian met Siobhan at the front of their car, reaching for her hand to spin her around.
“You look stunning, my love.” Vivian pulled the blonde in to kiss her softly.
“Have you seen yourself? Look at that blazer...” Siobhan pulled at the lapels of Vivian’s jacket. “Are you crying!?” Siobhan looked up to see Vivian’s eyes were welled up with tears. She smiled and shook her head.
“Weddings. They do something to me.” Siobhan smiled softly. She couldn’t deny that she had been thinking about it too. Weddings had never been something Siobhan had enjoyed attending. Maybe it was the fact that it was Autumn’s wedding, or maybe it was the fact that she was with Vivian. But something about it all had brought a sense of longing to the blonde’s heart.
“We should head up that way.” Siobhan whispered as she felt herself getting lost in Vivian’s eyes.
“We should. We are only two hours early.” Vivian snorted. Siobhan’s face fell into an annoyed grimace.
“You just watch- there will be a reason we came early!” Siobhan smacked Vivian’s stomach as she turned to leave.
“There won’t be!” Vivian shouted after her.
The two walked up the path hand in hand, taking in the beauty of the nature around them. Siobhan deeply inhaled the pine scented air, letting its crisp coolness whisk away the anxiety in her chest. The greenhouse began to appear in the distance in front of them. It was a sight to behold. Autumn had found it on a website months before she had asked Marjorie to marry her. She insisted she wasn’t looking, but when they had gone out drinking one night after one of Jeanie’s illustrious fittings- Autumn had admitted that she had wanted to be with Marjorie a lot longer than she would ever admit sober. The thought actually warmed Siobhan’s heart, another act that would never be spoken about, at least- not to anyone she actually cared about. As they came to the end of the path they walked up on Autumn sneaking a peek at Reece’s preparations. Siobhan watched for a moment as Autumn wiped a tear away from her cheek, her eyes glued to Reece’s scramble to get everything right. She had seen the Knight Siblings through many things over the years, but the best one she had got to be a part of was the two of them learning to fall in love with their sibling bonds again. They cared so much for each other, a love Siobhan craved to have. But how could she? Becca held resentment, so did Siobhan. Daniel had made it hard for them to coexist- she couldn’t blame her sister for being so angry. Vivian lightly nudged Siobhan’s shoulder, pulling her out of her transe.
“Look.” Siobhan glanced up, putting a smile on her face as she interrupted Autumn’s lost gaze.
"It's beautiful, Autumn." Autumn turned to see Vivian and Siobhan standing hand and hand behind her.
"I'm glad you two could make it." Autumn said softly, nodding attention to Vivian.
"I couldn't miss this, you two are family." Siobhan reached out her hand to take Autumn's, tightly gripping it between her own. The two had become inseparable, and for that she was thankful. "It's going to be perfect." Autumn laughed softly, turning her attention back over to the mishmosh of things occurring inside.
"God I hope so."
"Shouldn't you be getting dressed, Autumn?" Vivian asked, noticing Autumn was still in her sweatpants from the drive up. Autumn looked down at her outfit with a small scoff.
"I should. I really should. Marjorie has been getting ready since almost 4 am. She practically bounded down the hall to wake Charlotte up at the lodge today." Siobhan’s eyes widened. Out of all of the dated traditions her father had shoved down her throat, one she insisted she would stick by was not seeing your spouse until the wedding.
"Did you two stay in the same room!?" Siobhan’s voice was that of utter shock. Vivian looked behind her to try and hide her laugh, matching Autumn’s smirk.
"For one, that tradition is so outdated, Shibby, for two- no we didn't. But that doesn't mean that she didn't sneak in and-"
"OKAY- on that note, we're going to go make sure nothing needs to be done before we take our seats." Autumn giggled.
"Thank you Siobhan." Autumn nodded once before turning back to speak with Sorscha. Siobhan tugged at Vivian’s hand, leading her inside the green house.
