I paced back and forth in front of Preston who was fighting the urge to laugh. I should have told him we would speak to his parents next week or month instead of tonight.
"Ryker," Preston said stomping me from pacing, "papa and mama won't bite you."
I gave him a deadpanned look, "your parents will kill me."
"They'll give you an earful about getting me pregnant before we got married but I doubt they'll do anything else." He said as he walked over to me, "I know they'll be upset about how we went about things but at the end of the day they'll be happy knowing that we're having a baby and that we're adopting a little pup as well."
>the great alpha afraid of a beta and his mate< Zeus snickered
>have you forgotten who the beta and his mate are?< I asked making freeze as his eyes widened and I couldn't help but laugh as his reaction >ahh the great alpha is afraid of the beta and his mate?<
>fuck you, human< he growled knowing full well that not only was Princeton and Jesse, Preston's parents, but they were the most powerful beta couple with Jessie being the reincarnation of a powerful wolf hybrid that is literally the king of all wolves and Princeton was the beta of one of the most powerful wolf packs on Canada, the Savage Pack.
"I know Papa will have a talk with you about you not proposing while Mama will me a talk about why I didn't use protection when we first mated," Preston said making me look at him, "and I knack they'll be upset since I had planned about going to college but things are different now but that's okay."
"I just want their support," I said and he smiled stepping closer before cupping my cheeks.
"And they will," he replied with a reassuring smile, "I'm sure of it."
I sighed but nodded as I grabbed his hands and pressed a kiss to his knuckles, "okay, shall we head to see them then?"

After giving Morgan orders to keep watch of the pack and to call if anything happened, Preston and I made our way to his former home where we were greeted by lingering wolves that bowed in respect while others waved and called for Preston who waved and promised to catch up with them later before we left for our own pack.
His nieces and nephews rushed outside as soon as I parked the car in front of house. His younger sister Bonnie also came to greet us
"Uncle PJ!" Then shouted and rushed to him and I instinctively stood in front of him making them freeze and frown.
"Ryker," Preston whispered before stepping aside and waking towards his siblings and gave them a hug and kiss. They looked at me before turning to their uncle, and began to tell him all about their day.
"Did grandpa Jessie tell you we were here?" Preston asked a the little ones nodded, "where is he?"
"In the kitchen," one of them said, "he's making lunch."
"Grandpa Princeton is at the pack house with aunty Alaska," another said just as the familiar sound of leaves rustling made us look towards the trees to see a black wolf emerge who nodded his head to us.
As Princeton shifted back into his human form, his presence was as commanding as ever. Despite his casual greeting, I could sense the underlying tension in his posture. This was a man who had spent years protecting his pack, and now he was faced with unexpected news from his son.
"Papa," Preston said warmly, embracing his father. The bond between them was evident, a mix of respect and deep familial love.
"Ryker," Princeton acknowledged with a nod, his gaze steady and assessing. "It's good to see you."
"Thank you, Princeton," I replied, doing my best to maintain a calm demeanor despite the nerves still fluttering in my stomach.
We made our way inside, the house filled with the comforting scent of Jesse's cooking. The kitchen was a hub of activity, with Jesse moving gracefully between the stove and countertops, his presence a calming influence.
"Ah, there you are," Jesse said with a smile as we entered. "Lunch is almost ready. Why don't you all sit down?"
We settled around the kitchen table, the atmosphere warm yet charged with the anticipation of our conversation. I felt Preston's hand find mine under the table, his touch grounding me.
"Papa, Mama," Preston began, his voice steady yet filled with emotion. "Ryker and I have something important to tell you."
Jesse paused in his work, turning to give us his full attention. Princeton leaned back in his chair, his expression attentive but unreadable.
"We're expecting a baby," Preston continued, his words hanging in the air. "And we've decided to adopt a little pup we found in the woods at Moonlit Oasis Pack."
For a moment, the room was silent, the weight of the news settling over us all. Jesse's eyes widened in surprise, while Princeton's expression hardened, his jaw clenching as he processed the information.
"You got my son pregnant before marrying him?" Princeton's voice was low, a mix of anger and disbelief. "And now you're adopting a pup? This is... unexpected."
I met his gaze, my voice firm despite the tension. "I know this isn't how we planned it, and I take full responsibility. But I love Preston, and I want to spend my life with him. We're committed to building a family together, and we hope to have your blessing."
Jesse reached out, placing a gentle hand on Princeton's arm. "Let's not rush to judgment, love. They're here because they want our support."
Princeton sighed, his expression softening slightly as he looked at Jesse. They shared a silent exchange, one that spoke of years of understanding and partnership. Finally, he turned back to us, his eyes searching.
"Why didn't you come to us sooner?" he asked, his tone more curious than accusatory.
Preston squeezed my hand, his voice earnest. "We were scared, Papa. We knew it wasn't what you envisioned for us, but we also knew that this was right for us. We want to create a family filled with love and acceptance, just like the one you and Mama gave me."
Princeton's gaze shifted between us, and slowly, the tension in his posture eased. Jesse smiled softly, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding.
"Well," Jesse said, his voice gentle, "if there's one thing we've learned, it's that life rarely goes according to plan. What's important is that you're happy and committed to each other."
Princeton nodded, his expression thoughtful. "If this is truly what you both want, then you have our blessing. But know that it's not an easy path. You'll face challenges, but we'll be here to support you."
Relief flooded through me, and I felt the weight of my anxiety lift. Preston beamed, his joy contagious as he hugged his parents.
"Thank you, Papa, Mama," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
>See? That wasn't so bad,< Zeus chimed in, his tone smug yet affectionate.
>Yeah, yeah,< I replied, unable to suppress a smile. >Thanks for the support, Zeus.<
As we settled into conversation, discussing plans for the future and the challenges we might face, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the family we were building. With the blessing of Preston's parents and the support of the Savage Pack, I knew we could face whatever lay ahead, together.
