You wake up as the soft morning sunlight filters through the curtains. Today feels different, special — it's Mikey's birthday. Excitement and nervousness fill you as you swing your legs off the bed, your feet touching the cool floor.

You stayed up late last night, planning a simple but heartfelt surprise for him after noticing the special day ahead. Mikey doesn't like grand celebrations, but you want to make the day special for him.

Since you know how much Mikey loves dorayaki, you decide to prepare a small birthday surprise. Quietly, you slip out of your room and head to the kitchen.

The house is still silent; everyone is asleep. Moving carefully, you reach for the dorayaki you bought yesterday and place one on a small plate. Adding a tiny candle in the centre, you smile at the sight of it — simple, but full of love. You giggle quietly to yourself. I hope he likes it.

Lighting the candle, you watch the flame flicker for a moment before taking a deep breath. Then, carefully, you carry the plate up to Mikey's room.

Mikey's room is slightly dim, with only the first sunlight seeping in. He's sprawled out on the bed, tangled in the blankets, his hair a mess. His face, relaxed in sleep, looks so different from the stoic expression he usually wears.

You pause for a moment, watching him. Cute... . A warmth spreads in your chest as you tiptoe closer, the candle's flame flickering in your hand. Gently, you sit on the edge of his bed, looking down at him with soft eyes.

"Mikey... .", you whisper, leaning closer, but he doesn't stir. You try again, a little louder, "Mikey, wake up... ."

Still nothing. You stifle a giggle at how stubbornly sleepy he is, even on his birthday. He sleeps like a stone. Shit, I must hurry, the candle!

"Mikey!", you call, gently nudging his shoulder.

He grumbles, his face scrunching up as he stirs but still doesn't open his eyes. You smile, holding the dorayaki plate closer, the candle casting a soft glow on his face. "Happy birthday, Mikey.", you say, your voice warm and gentle.

Mikey groans and slowly blinks his eyes open, squinting at the plate in front of him. "Wha... ?", he mumbles, still half-asleep. "Dorayaki... ? In the morning... ?"

You giggle softly. "It's not just dorayaki.", you tease. "It's your birthday cake. I even put a candle in it."

Mikey's expression shifts as he realizes what's happening. "Oh... .", he mutters, sitting up slightly with a small smile. "You remembered... ."

"Of course I did.", you say, holding out the plate. "Make a wish."

Mikey looks at you for a moment, the candlelight reflecting in his eyes. It's a quiet, intimate moment, and your heart flutters. He closes his eyes for a brief moment, then blows out the candle with a soft exhale. The flame flickers out, leaving the room in the dim morning light.

"Thanks.", he murmurs, his voice soft but sincere.

"You're welcome.", you reply, smiling shyly. Mikey takes the dorayaki and bites into it, still sleepy but clearly appreciating the gesture. He looks at you, his gaze soft and drowsy, and something in the air feels different — like there's something unspoken between you.

Mikey's hand brushes against yours, sending a shiver down your spine. Without a word, he leans in and kisses you softly. It's slow, tender, and completely unexpected. Your heart races as you melt into the kiss, your hand resting on his chest, feeling his heartbeat.

Mikey pulls back, his face close to yours, his breath warm against your lips. His eyes are filled with sincerity as he whispers, "Thank you, for everything."
