Shocking News

She stared at the test on the sink with wide eyes. How was she going to explain this to Brim, Viper even Sage. Her and Raze had been so careful, and yet one mishap had caused this whole thing. She gripped the sink tightly still trying to put her head around it. She was pregnant, and she didn't know how the protocol would react. Would Brim kick her out? Force her back to Germany? Would he be excited at the prospect of being a Grandfather? Would he keep her off missions. She didn't realized she was crying, not until something wam hit her hand. Taking a deep breath she put the test safely in her sweatshirts pocket, before walking out of her bedroom and towards the Training room, where she knew she could find her Girlfriend. 

Raze was worried about KJ, even though the German waved her off with a smile. For the past couple days Raze woke up to Killjoy hunched over the toilet, the sounds of her soft gasps and wheezes hurting her soul as she helped her girlfriend sit back. "It's probably just something I ate Tay, its fine I promise." Killjoy would always mutter, though Raze knew better. "YO Raze! What's got you in your head?"Jett said, dashing over to the bombs expert and slinging a arm around her. "You worried about your satchels again? You know KJ can fix them up right?" Neon said, coming up to stand in front of her friend. Raze chuckled, not doubting her girlfriend could fix up her things, though sobered up quickly once the picture of Killjoy hunched over the toilet infiltrated her head again. "Ah.. Uh no im worried about KJ, she's been sick in the morning the past couple days." Both the duelist scrunch their eyes. "Oh jeez, is she okay?" Neon asked softly. "She's usually fine after, maybe a little nauseated but otherwise fine.." Jett hummed softly. "Any other symptoms? I know Pheonix came down with something a few days ago, could be that?" Raze thought back for a moment before nodding, "More fatigued than normal and small stomach pain." "Should take her to see Sage, she can probably give medicine to help her out." Raze nodded faintly, already turning. "I'll do it now then, sorry for cutting this short!" "No worried go help your girl!" Was the last thing she heard before the door closed, though found Killjoy a few moment later. 

"Hey honey.." Raze said smiling as she brought KJ into a hug. "Hi mouse.. Can I talk with you?" Raze nodded immediately, following the German to their shared private laboratory. "I gotta talk with you too hon, you should go get checked by sage, since your not feeling well." The soft snort she got didn't sound amused, more worried as the door shut behind them. The long moment of silence seemed to take forever, before Killjoy dug in her pocket and took out a weird rectangle thing. Shoving it into Razes hands she turned away not wanting to see Razes expression. She looked over the test, with the printed words with wide eyes. "Wh-what..." She whispered softly. they've been so careful, making sure this didn't happen at all. "Ar-are you sure? Did you take another?" She said looking up to the side profile of Killjoy, who had tears forming quickly. "Th-that was the 5th one I took... I-its true..." Raze gave a choked laugh, and swooped in to hug Killjoy gently. "Its earlier than both of us had planned, but it's okay bebes you know you will always have me at your back, what do you want to do with it?" She whispered, feeling Killjoy unwind and hug her back tightly, the tears now falling freely. 

"I-I dont want to get rid of it.. I want to keep it.." Killjoy whispered softly, sniffling in between words. the ultimate wave of relief filled her body that Raze wouldn't turn her away, wouldn't hate her. "Okay, we should talk with Brimstone... and check with a doctor to make sure it's actually true." "Don't tell anyone else right now please.. I-I.." " I wont I promise KJ.. cmon lets go confront your dad okay?" Killjoy nodded faintly, swiping at her teas and taking a deep breathe to compose herself before they left the workshop. She tucked the test back into her pocket again, and Raze smiled faintly. they were going to be parents, albeit earlier than they had expected. With that they headed towards Brimstones office, the hallways thankfully quiet.Killjoy hesitated as they reached his office doors, Worried that Brimstone will force her off the protocol, and startles when Raze takes her hand. "I got your back remember? We do this as a team." "As a team..." Killjoy whispers back before knocking on the door, waiting for him to confirm. When he did, they pushed open the door, and Brim looks up, taking in Killjoys still puffy eyes and worried expression. He pushed himself out of his chair as Raze closes the door and brings the german into a gentle hug. "What's going on you two? Are you okay?" He asked softly his eyebrows furrowing in concern as Killjoy pulls away. taking a deep breath the engineer pulls the test from her pocket and handing it silently to the man, her eyes darting to the floor as she heard him take a deep breath. "This is..." "Mhm... " Brim looks up to Raze, staring her down. "What is your plans?" "Keeping it..." Killjoy whispered softly, hearing brim shifting faintly. "Are you sure kid? you won't be able to go on missions, and will need to cut back on your hours in the lab.."  Killjoy just nods faintly. Brim Sighs softly and brings the german into a hug. "Alright kid, it's your choice, your old enough to make the right decisions, and you have the protocol to help I promise." Killjoy smiled feeling tears coming back again, despite her best efforts to stop it. "Go get checked by Sage or Viper, make sure it's true and healthy okay?" Killjoy nodded and hugged her adoptive father tightly. 

Killjoy was getting closer to her due date, and the rest of the protocol could tell. thankfully everyone was willing to help the german with any tasks needed, letting her take a break. Her room had been fitted out with furniture brought from a few of the agents, as well as any supplies the couple might have needed. Raze had officially moved into Killjoys room, ready to help with the baby when she was born. Sage was ready on standby to help deliver alongside Viper. Brim had kept both Raze and Killjoy off missions once she hit the second trimester, not willing to give either unnecessary stress. Jett, Neon Phoenix and yoru had helped with couple with baby names, the gender being kept a secret deciding to just see when the kid was born. Raze kept a eye on the Engineer like a hawk, even though she stayed true to her word and only hung out with the other duelist or Cypher in the lab. the fact that Killjoy loved baggy clothes hid her stomach, and with a blanket over her shoulders at all times she looked ready for a nap. At the moment she was in the common room with Jett, Neon, Omen, Phoenix, Yoru, Sova and Harbor, taking turns playing with the wii they had connected. "Hey! that shell wasn't fair!" Killjoy called out laughing as Jett just stuck her tongue out at her. the past couple days the kid has been extremely restless, kicking and moving making it so much harder to sleep or sit comfortable. 

the contractions had been constant the entire day, earning soft hisses as the engineer moved through the halls. Raze was with a few others in the training room, needing to get rid of the anxious hovering by putting it to work by parring with the other agents. Killjoy had waved her away with the promise that Cypher would be there to help, and the Information broker was, staying by her side and giving easy conversation as they worked. Right now the two where in the workshop, Killjoy more watching as Cypher worked with His tripwires. Her soft hisses turned to whimpers as the contraction got stronger, bending over to try and relieve the pain. "You okay Little engineer?" Cypher said softly, turning in worry as Killjoy pushed herself up, face still twisted in pain. "Sh-shit.." Cypher shot up calmly, helping the engineer towards the medbay, before she whispered a soft shit as she felt something gush. "Its alright kid, we re almost there.." Once she was safely  in the medbay, Cypher ran towards the training room,  calling out to Raze. "Raze! medbay." Her face scrunched before she remembered Killjoy and immediately bolted for the door, her friends at her side. 

Jett had been pacing worriedly, knowing the many things that can go wrong during birth, though knew KJ was strong. "Jett sit down before you burn a hole in the floor." Breach said, about to tie the wind agent down, though good naturally. they had been sitting for most of the night, waiting for news on the Engineer. "I'm sorry im worried and excited though." "I wonder if its a girl... you think the kid would have KJs smarts?" Phoenix said softly. "better KJs smarts than it being dumb like you." Yoru said with a eye roll. "fuck you man!" Phoenix said back glaring. "with parents like those two there's no way their kid will be dumb." Astra said, feeling protective of the two engineers she saw as daughters. All of the agents startled as the door opened, Sage standing at the door with a smile. "Quiet all of you, and take it easy please." Once she stepped aside the agents walked in to see Killjoy leaning against the headboard with a small bundle in her arms. "KJ! jett said softly smiling as she hugged her friend and awed at the baby. after a few 'Are you okay? How are you feeling?s' breach asked the question. "What's' the babies name?" "Everyone meet Emil Ademir Bohringer-Alves."
