TRIPLE UPDATE: Chapter 45-47
ELOISE DUPONT
Harry has been in communications, but mostly through texts. He tried to call me after his show in Switzerland and before flying over to Manchester. How cruel fate is that I just left the place only a matter of hours before he arrived is almost comical.
However, while sitting in the back of an uber heading to my class, I realize there was no time for me to fuss about. He would be busy doing his thing while I was busy doing my own. As I repeated the menu in my head for the twelfth time, simultaneously replying to Liam's text about where we are grabbing dinner after. With the help of Harry, I have contacted one of his closest friends to arrange some London plans. Since we have almost three full days in the city, we are making the most of this one.
Day 1: class & dinner with Liam
Day 2: Harry has some sort of a plan that of course he will not disclose with me
Day 3: Liam, his son, myself, and Jade are attending Harry's concert (Ricky vetoed, not because he doesn't support Harry, but because he has a friend that lives only about an hour outside the city that he made plans with)
Overall, it was going to be a busy set of days, but well appreciated since it was filled with Harry and lots of connections to him. I had an arrangement of questions I was going to ask Liam about Harry, as if I do not bombard him enough already. The more comfortable we were becoming with another, it showed me that there were so many quirks to him, and I wanted to find all of them out. Where better to start, than with one of the people who watched him grow and change so impressionably into the person he is now.
The car halted to a quick stop and my brain had to reroute and remember just where I was and bring myself back to the present. Ricky and Jade were already here, or at least Jade told me they were, I was only running late because I couldn't find my apron anywhere and considered the worst, wondering if it was left behind somewhere. Luckily, that was not the case and instead it just somehow had made it into my smaller case under toiletries, but it was enough to set me behind all day.
Today's class was the best venue we had up to this point, behind held into a large restaurant that was rented out specifically for the event since some of the workers were attending. Apparently England loves chefs, when tickets for the tour went up it was the first place I sold out.
Fate.
London was calling me before I even knew it.
"Honey, hurry up, you look fabulous, but hurry up." Jade was standing in the doorway, holding open it open to usher me inward. The entire restaurant was laid out with large round tables draped in cream tablecloths, small candles lighting your way through the building while dark mahogany chairs were tucked in. There was a grand chandelier in the middle the room turned on but dimmed down, casting beautiful glow tones across the room and making the entire room appear much later in the day than it truly was.
Jade's and my footsteps were cushioned into thick navy carpet that had a swirled pattern upon it, leading the way towards the kitchen. Behind white doors encased in two golden rimmed porthole windows stood two other cooks and Ricky, casually chatting while flipping through a cookbook that was not my own. "There she is!" Ricky boomed through the kitchen, not yet fully of the smells, chatter of people, and busy vibes to tone down his echoing voice.
"Elle, come here, this is Race Berkley and Ani Pratcht. They actually own the restaurant and a few others in London. They were showing me some of the inspiration they have gathered from other cooks, chefs, and bakers that have came to do spotlights in the kitchen for a night to draw in crowds."
