'RUNNN!' I screamed like it wasn't obvious. The mechanical creature dived down and roared at us. We both dashed, desperation and adrenaline fuelling our steps. Turning corner after corner, running foot after foot, hope began to drain as we went deeper into the Maze, having a monstrous Griever hot on our trail. The whirring and clicking of the Griever filled the ivy walls, creating an illusion that Grievers were surrounding us adding a sense of dread to our limited shred of hopefulness. Ace and I kept running but the Maze walls changing made it difficult. The death clock kept ticking as I felt the Grim Reaper come alongside us, waiting for our eventual death. We raced, until I detected a pair of hands on me. Jumping, I looked beside me to find the Asian runner looking happily at us.

'You crazy sons of a bitch.' Minho said as he observed the Griever close behind us. 'Come on, follow me.' Ace and I followed the runner through the maze 'Okay, it's changing, it's changing. Come on.' We turned a sharp corner and bolted.

We kept running until the Maze walls betrayed us, leaving us in a dead end with a Griever guarding our exit. My heart was beating in my throat as the Griever took its time coming to us, almost menacingly, like it knew we couldn't do anything except wait—the ivy, too weak to support our weights. I caught Ace's eye with the same look we gave each other when we ran into the Maze, the look that said we would make a stupid decision that could save someone. Ace and I stepped forward, cementing our choice.

In sync, Ace and I glowed our eyes at the griever, transforming into our other half in the process. Ace roared, growing fangs and claws as I burst into a fireball of flames. The Grievers surprised but threatened roared at us, challenging us. It lunged. Multiple sharp stingers emerged from its body. The monster's sharp metal pieces started whirling around.

'Don't get stung!' I yelled at Ace as a stinger came dangerously close to his ribcage. Ace sidestepped out of the way and landed a blow to the Grievers underbelly. I could hear him protract his claws into the Griever causing it to roar out in pain and distress. The Griever started to flail around causing us to fly into the cement ivied walls with a painful thud. Getting up quickly, I shouted to Ace 'The underbelly. It's the Grievers weak spot' He nodded to me acknowledging my sentence while slowly getting up, clearly impacted by the Grievers blow. Not even one minute in and we were already losing to the Griever.

In my peripheral vision, I could see the werewolf starting to get angry. Good. We waited for the Griever to calm down before making another move. I saw Ace slide under the Griever while slicing its underbelly open causing some of its internal contents to spill out. Once Ace reached the Grievers tail, the Griever being distracted it allowed me to use my hellhound powers for the first real time. I don't know how I did it, but I radiated heat off my body, causing the Griever to shriek as the monster slowly melted away leaving its metal components in a clump of goo.

My head went dizzy, as I raced to a wall, slumping against it, catching my breathe, while I saw Ace come over to me, sitting beside me doing the same. I completely forgot about Minho until he started speaking 'What the holy shunk was that? What are you guys?'

I looked at Ace, a look of dead flashed across my face. 'Do you want to know the truth?' I asked

'No shit.'

So, I told him. Everything. From the dream two weeks ago, to the Bestiary, to avoiding them, to Ace and I meeting then glowing eyes, to Aces bestiary experience, to a couple nights ago where Ace nearly killed me. After all the explaining, I glanced at Minho. His emotions were still masked by the night's darkness, but I could see a slight smile on his face. He pulled me in for a hug, which was unexpected from him, but I gladly took it, happy to have my friend back. 'But, you're telling Thomas, Chuck and Newt ok?' I laughed and nodded. The three of us sat in silence as we all feel asleep.

My eyelids fluttered open as someone shook me violently.

'Oh my gosh, what Minho?' I asked annoyed and sleepy

'I'm sorry to interrupt your beauty sleep, but it is almost morning, and we have to get Alby then get to the Doors before they open.'
I slowly rose my heavy head, surprised that we could sleep in a deadly place like this. Soon all three of us were awake and alert, looking for Alby. We made a few turns, surprised we hadn't run into any more Grievers yet, and found the boy still unconscious tied up in the ivy. Ace quickly untied the ropes, letting us to easily let the leader slide down the ivy wall. Carrying Alby between the three of us, we made our way to the unopened doors, waiting for the moment we can see everyone again.
