Ira POV:
Sunlight poured in through the window so I closed my eyes tighter and turned around reaching out to find a blanket to block out the light. I kept searching and couldn't find one. I finally sat up and opened my eyes. The blankets were either on the floor or clustered at the end of the bed.
I still feel exhausted. I lay back down, grabbed one of the blankets, threw it over my head, and closed my eyes to try and get at least a little more sleep. After a minute of staying awake, I groaned and threw the blanket off. It's just not going to happen. I moved towards the edge of my bed to get up and stretch and instead fell to the floor. My shoulder starts to throb and I sit up. At least I'm more awake now. I grabbed the side table to pull myself up and slipped falling back down with a book landing on my head. I swear I didn't put that there. I grabbed the book and tried to read the strange letters. Hold up. I turned around the book, "The potential of powers and," I let out a yawn and set the book back on the table. I guess Fleur returned it without my noticing. I stood up and looked around my room. Looks like nothing else has changed. I went into the closet and looked at the vests, and dress shirts. They are uncomfortable and not me. I went to the bags in the corner of the clothes I bought the other day and got changed. I walked out of the closet and went to the balcony.
"Morning." Rachel said. I turned to see her sitting in her chair her book in her lap.
"I wish it wasn't." I replied letting out another yawn. What I would give to have one night of good sleep without nightmares of my friends being kidnapped and Rachels charm being stolen leaving her defenseless and, ugh I hate nightmares.
"I get that feeling. Somedays morning are the worst." Rachel closed her book and walked over, "I hope you didn't stay up to late."
"Not to much later than normal why?" why would she think I stayed up late. I mean I told her the real reason I'm always sleep deprived so why would she think it was just staying up to late?
"Earth to Ira, or well I guess it's Gokai to Ira." I looked at Rachel.
"What?"
"You zoned out while I was answering your question." Rachel said simply. She didn't seem upset.
"Oops, still asleep I guess." Rachel smiled at the replied with a shrug.
"Like I said I get it. If you're listening now, I can repeat my answer." I nodded, " Well I saw you training last night and didn't know how long you went on for."
"It wasn't that long." It really wasn't Daivd tired out faster than normal so that was it for the night.
"Thats good." Rachel said lightly looking out at the garden, "It's sweet of you to want to protect your friends."
"Well I am the future Custos Salutis." I replied. Rachel gave me a confused look. Right she doesn't know what that is. I hoped over the railing to join her on her balcony, "It's basically your general of defense."
"Oh so you will be in charge of protecting the entire kingdom?" Rachel asked looking around at it all.
"Yeah." I looked around at it as well. You couldn't see much beyond the garden but I know what my home looks like. I can clearly see the mountains, the ocean, the city.
"Thats a lot of responsibility to put on a kid." Rachel turned to me.
"Well it's technically not on me. That responsibility is still on Richard." I don't envy my big brother.
"Because he's the oldest he's heir to the throne isn't he?" Of course she can figure it out on her own. I lightly nodded, "So all the responsibility falls onto him?"
