Sophie slid out of the bushes, she was going to do one lap around before she left. It probably wasn't the smartest, but she wanted to take advantage of this mission, even if it was just supposed to be a distraction. She started scouting out different defences, staying mostly in the shadows.

Her feet were silent against the grass, and her body moved with a grace that she never thought she would have. After actually focusing on training instead of trying to figure out plans, she learned a lot. She was basically done with her lap when something jumped out of nowhere and onto her. Her back hit the ground and the air flew out of her lungs and she was left gasping for a breath.

"Lost your breath at the sight of me? Figures," Her attacker said.

"Keefe..." Sophie said smiling.

Keefe grinned, "NO, FOSTER PLEASE THIS ISN'T YOU!" He yelled, giving Sophie a conspiratorial look.

She laughed and played along, "I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LOVE ME NO MATTER WHAT!"

"NOT IF YOU'RE GOING TO BECOME A VILLAIN! YOU'RE DEAD TO ME!" Keefe yelled, then his voice quieted, "I love you so much, I'll see you at my house?"

Sophie pulled his head down to kiss him, "See you tonight!" Then she pushed Keefe off of her and fell into a portal that she opened beneath her.

"They had no idea. They didn't even have guards. It's not like they ever do, but they were fully convinced that no one would ever come for them," Gethen grinned, "And now we know all of the ways into the councillor's homes."

"Wait, that's what your mission was?" She had known that he was going to be scouting for some blueprints, but didn't know what for.

"Yes..." Gethen said slowly, "It's complicated, but this is the beginning of the end. You are going to do something that will make everyone know our power."

Sophie nodded, understanding, "So we're going to prove that we can get in, that they should fear us. Just like you did, getting into my brain, right?"

"Something like that. Don't worry, I will explain everything later, go hang out with your friends."

Sophie smiled and walked out of Gethen's office. It seemed like it was almost over. She was finally going to have changed things. She went to Ruy and Gethen's room and told them about everything. They seemed extremely surprised that something actually worked. It seemed that even though the Neverseen had been winning a lot of battles, they weren't winning the war.

It made Sophie wonder, who was winning?

"On the day Alvar brought me to this base I could have never expected all of this was going to happen," Sophie commented.

"Alvar?" Ruy asked, "What do you mean?"

Sophie shook her head and scrunched her face in confusion, "Alvar brought me here, what about it?"

"Sophie..." Glimmer said slowly, "Alvar hasn't been in the Neverseen since the whole troll thing. Most of us are pretty sure he's dead."

"What? No, he brought me here," She said, determined.

"Maybe he did, but he's not a part of the Neverseen. No one knows where he is," Ruy said.

"Hmm, that's so weird," Sophie sighed, "Whatever, nothing happened and I don't have enough time to care about something else."

After a couple minutes, Sophie decided she was tired of everything and wanted a mental break. She would worry about Alvar later, when she had time.

She curled up in her bed for a while, before deciding she was aching for a fight, for action, for anything really. Pulling on her cloak she teleported out of her room and to the cafe she had been going to very frequently lately. She sat in the back, hood over her head drinking some lushberry juice. She was glancing around, hoping something would happen, maybe some drama would unfold. Nothing.

She sat there for more than an hour and nothing happened, then Mr. Forkle walked in. He came over and sat across from her.

"How are the Neverseen treating you?" He asked.

Sophie smiled, "Perfectly great, thank you very much. We're actually making a difference. What do you want?"

Mr. Forkle looked at her, "Two things, I want to remind you that there's a reason that the Black Swan are the good guys, make sure you consider everything you do. I also wanted to ask if you were looking for your biological mother."

She grinned, "I already know who she is, don't worry, I won't tell,"

Mr. Forkle looked shocked, "Well I hope you take more after your mother than you do your father." With that he got up and walked out.

Sophie stared at his retreating figure. He didn't have the right to say that after keeping everything a secret for so long. But she couldn't help but remember the words for the rest of the day. They rang in her head and even when she fell asleep that night, next to Keefe, the words repeated over and over again in her mind.

I hope you take more after your mother than you do your father.
