A Witch is Needed.
"So, I'm gonna let you guys do your thing" Trevor watched as the boy threw them saccharine sweet smile at his father. If looked closely it was kinda taunting, Trevor won't lie. Yet it still looked so innocent. Blinking he watched the boy give the others a barely there polite nod. Before turning, he gave a soft peck on his blushing mate's cheek, murmured something, and then left the hall ignoring the guard who tried to stop him from leaving like they weren't even there.
Trevor couldn't help but chuckle at the boy's attitude. For all the delicateness and gentleness Elrid excluded, the boy can sure throw around that audacious brat attitude just fine.
The first time he heard about their future beta's mate, Trevor wasn't sure about what to think. When Benjamin announced- quite enthusiastically if he might add- about Caleb finding his mate- a human male mate- everyone was mystified. Sure, there were, some among their supernatural community; thanks to several human protests for their freedom and everything. But it wasn't common. At least among their community, it was frowned upon. Mates who can't benefit their species by reproduction are a burden. They were rejected or exiled from the pack. That situation had gradually changed after several years. That doesn't mean they were common though, even their pack- which is the only pack in their country and the biggest one in their continent- only had two pairs of homosexual couples among them. And that's saying something. Even if same-sex-oriented mates were popping gradually among the supernaturals during these last few years, those among the top mates were always of their opposite sex. It doesn't matter if they're gay or lesbian. Their duty was to procreate. And for that, they need a male and female- unless they were an omega- considering how rare omegas are that option too wasn't possible.
So, to find someone who is supposed to lead the pack someday in the future to find a mate who is a male. Surely Benjamin nor Fionna had any problem with the matter, considering how happy they were to announce the news. The elders- some of them at least- and he, himself wanted the boy to mate someone- a girl from their pack or another pack- to continue the legacy. But Caleb didn't budge from his decision though. The pup even declared to give his position to his brother or even Athen so that he could be with his mate. At last, everyone begrudgingly accepted their future beta's decision.
To only yell their disagreement when they heard the boy was the killer.
And the first time he met Elrid Forest- bleeding and unconscious in the hands of his mate- Trevor thought of him as a frail thing. And he was, with his lithe body and short height. A little thing that can easily blow by the wind. And he wasn't sure how the boy was going to hold himself among the snarling wolves. They were going to eat him alive. It doesn't matter he was the future mate of their future beta. But Trevor- and everyone- soon found out his worry was for nothing, Elrid was a spiteful little thing when he wanted to be. And it didn't matter if they were humans or one of the most dangerous predators in the world. And Trevor respected him enough to accept the boy into their family. And the boy being medium is just a bonus.
"We need a witch" Zander announced, earning some gasps and sputters from the elders.
He knew it was a must, but he still grimaced. Internally of course. Emotions were ones to deal with, not others. Or so his father says.
"What are you saying, sir?" Marcus Paine requested. His tone and appearance were much milder and more respectful than the ones he threw at the white-haired boy.
