The hotel room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the heater. You were sitting on the edge of the bed, scrolling absentmindedly through your phone, while Spencer paced near the desk, deep in thought.

"Do you need anything?" he asked suddenly, his voice breaking the silence.

You looked up, surprised. "What?"

"Do you need anything?" he repeated, his brow furrowed as he glanced over at you. "I mean, are you comfortable? Is the room too cold? Too warm? Should we order food?"

A soft smile tugged at your lips. Spencer's endless concern for others was one of the things you loved most about him, even if it sometimes bordered on overthinking.

"I'm fine," you assured him, "Really"

He nodded, but his pacing didn't stop. His hands fidgeted with the hem of his cardigan, and his lips pressed into a thin line. You could tell his mind was racing, his thoughts running a hundred miles an hour.

"Spencer" you said gently, setting your phone down.

He paused, looking at you with wide, questioning eyes.

"What do you need?" you asked, your tone soft but firm.

He blinked, as if the question had never occurred to him. "Me?"

"Yes, you" you said, standing and crossing the room to him. "You're always so focused on making sure everyone else is okay, but you never stop to think about yourself"

He opened his mouth to argue, but you placed a hand on his arm, stopping him.

"It's okay to have needs" you said, your voice quiet. "It's okay to ask for things"

Spencer hesitated, his eyes darting away from yours. "I don't know," he admitted, "I'm not used to thinking about it. I just... I want to make sure you're happy"

"I am happy," you said, squeezing his arm, "But I'm happier when you are too"

He stared at you for a long moment, the weight of your words sinking in. Finally, he sighed, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly.

"Can we just... Sit for a while?" he asked. "Together?"

A warm smile spread across your face. "Of course"

You led him to the bed, and the two of you sat side by side, the silence between you comfortable now. He reached for your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours.

"Thank you" he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

"For what?"

"For reminding me that my needs matter too" he said, glancing at you with a soft smile.

You leaned your head against his shoulder, your heart swelling with affection. "Always, Spencer. Always"
