It's December 21st 2004.
They saved me, y'know? That kid, Freya. She told me that she looked up to me as her own mother. I mean, her mother was a prisoner; she was in this 'group' of ours before I was found. She died years ago of an overdose after smuggling drugs into the prison through her asshole. When Freya was nine; meaning she'd been dead for three years when I met her. Now she's eighteen... I don't want to talk about how fast she grew up!
Me and her are inseparable. We've constantly gone on trips together, she's had countless sleepovers at my house, and even at Terrence's house.
Terrance is like... the father of the group. He definitely acts like it; and he embraces the role.
Oliver and Frazer took longer to warm up to, but we're close to them, too. We're all close. Like a family, really. The memories you make with people over the span of six years is really something, isn't it?
They all helped me as I came out of Raccoon City. I never explained to them what actually happened, because I'm not being called crazy. But they helped me figure out my feelings and who I am. They made me realise that I wasn't actually in love with Leon. I just wanted sex. I mean, I didn't think I did. But they told me that the mind works in mysterious ways.
Either way, they told me that he was a cop. Who should always be avoided, and they're the scummiest people of the earth. Even more so than us.
The sacrifices we've made for eachother add up to a lot, such as time, money, ect, and frankly I've never felt so safe with people as I have these last few years. So where exactly did it all go wrong?
Three days ago, everything went according to plan. I met with the man in the alleyway with my dog, and he gave me an absolutely delicious, delectable amount of cash in exchange for the meth. He explained the plan, and what had happened so far.
He'd already met with the customers from Boston, and he recieved the money; hence paying us already. From there, he explained that he's going back with two other men who will sneak it on a ship, and it'll be easy.
We split the money between us, and that was all. I mean, the rest isn't really our business, and I frankly don't care.
So when I woke up to a loud crash in main room after a few days, I didn't understand.
I rush into the dark living room, an open window and... Freya?
I let out a sigh of relief and step forward. I chuckle. "Hey, sweetheart. What are you doing here? You could've just knocked."
She reaches into her back pocket, whipping out a gun as she grabs onto Pepper's collar. "Don't come any closer!"
My eyebrows furrow as I glance down at the sheep dog in her hand, then back up to the metal weapon in her other. I nod, knowing full well she's not afraid to use it.
"What the hell are you doing with Pepper?" I ask, doing my best to keep my composure.
"I'm taking him. There's a guy in South London-"
"You're not taking my baby. Get your own Pepper." I cut her off, irritatedly.
She immediately tugs my dog, ushering towards the door. I dart towards her, and she quickly whips around, firing a bullet straight to my shin.
"Fuck! Agh, you..!" The loud noise of both my scream and the gunshot is the only sign of life in this pre-sunrise morning. I glance back over to my door, feeling faint as I notice them gone.
I shove the agony to one side for a moment, staggering along as quick as I possibly can. The pain is almost unbearable, but I focus on my target. She hops into my car, revving the engine before taking off. The audacity of that girl! She must've grabbed my car keys after she shot me!
I frustratedly limp over to my motorbike, hopping on the seat and chasing the motherfucker.
I need to chase her until she stops, basically. God damn my car with full fuel.
I chase her from Brighton, East Sussex (where I moved after Raccoon City in order to stay in the area with the other three), all the way through the main streets of London, looping around and almost crashing multiple times during the three hour chase from two in the morning all the way until five. My leg is in a pulsating kind of pain, and it hurts like hell.
Eventually, she parks at a police station and throws Pepper out of the car, straight into the car park. I slip my keys out of the motorbike, wobbling over to the two of them as swiftly as possible.
Freya exits the car, standing there for a moment as I grab onto my dog's collar to stop him from escaping. "What the fuck was that about, Freya!?"
She looks at me amused, raising her eyebrows. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I had to get you away somehow. And your car is practically out of fuel."
I furrow my eyebrows baffledly, but as soon as I open my mouth she runs towards a different black car and hops into the passenger seat. I groan, leaning against my car for a moment as I watch her drive away... with Oliver in the driver's seat. I also spot Terrance and Frazer in the back.
"Why don't you try some foreplay before you decide to fuck me!" I yell after them, my emotions mixing like a stew.
Great.
Before I know it, I have a policeman sprinting over to me from the station. I glance over, knowing I have nothing to be worried about as nobody actually knows I'm a drug dealer.
I can tell by the look on his face; he's practically undressing me with his eyes.
"Hey, pretty baby. What are you doing here at this time of the morning?" He asks, looking me up and down and stopping at the gunshot wound on my leg.
"Ugh... I just chased some dickface all the way from Brighton. They stole my car, and I've got it back now," I open the door and grab my keys, locking it before glancing up. "Just, I'm really far away."
Hah, fucking loser. Cops are so easy to manipulate.
"I'm glad I clocked in early, then. Here, come with me and I'll take you to the hospital. You can explain the situation on the way, huh?"
I just nod, already brewing up a pitiful lie to tell him.
"Oh, yes please. I don't know what I'd do without you!"
Honestly, I don't. But I fucking hate cops, damn! He's doing this for his own gain. But I don't care, as long as I get help.
"But where should I put my dog?" I ask.
"I'll let the other cops look after it. There's two others inside right now." He explains.
"Him, not it. And, is it just officers who work there?"
"Um, we have a receptionist?" He mumbles, a little confused.
"Ask them to look after him." I command.
