Anakin came in late after being on a very long, on-planet mission. His shoulders were slumped and his eyebrows drawn together looking as if he was in deep concentration. His muscles were clenched, he felt aching all over his body and wished for nothing more but to sit down. Despite his inner frustrations of the day, he gently closed the door after him, still aware of keeping it down and walked further into the room.

He brushed off his robes, quick to discard them onto the floor, he glanced over at the balcony, the stars were out winking at him, having a certain glow to them that his mind began to calm down, a reminder of how much time he's spent out and now it was time to rest.

He felt his eyelids dropping and rubbed his temple to ease the fatigue that was beginning to take over his senses. As much as he wished to sleep, he knew he had to have a wash, his perfect wavy curls have become disarray and his attire was unkept. He also had a few new scratches that stung and knew he had to take care of them. The thought of more work made him groan out loud.

He took off his shoes when he entered his bedroom, but paused for a moment when he looked over to the further side of his bed. The outline of your sleeping figure clutching the covers tightly, your hand was outstretched to his side of the bed. His heart swirled with that particular warmth he always gets when he's near you, a familiar but an uncontrollable feeling. His feet carried him over to you and was now looking at you up close. Noticing how soft your features looked, so angelic with your lips slightly parted as soft breaths pasted through, your cheek pressed into the pillow and your lashes which veiled your eyes. His hand moved on its own accord to caress your silk like hair that hand smooth through his large hand, your skin reflected the stars in the sky, full of brightness and eternal beauty he thought, he now sat on the edge of the bed where your body hid beneath the cosy duvet.

You stirred a little, he didn't seem to notice as his mind was foggy with weariness, you first felt his touch in your hair and then the slight dip in the bed, you mouth curled up in a little smile, which Anakin always found endearing. Your eyes were still heavy with sleep and was begging for you to go back and close them, but nonetheless you squinted your eyes open through the darkness and your hand moved over to where he stroked your hair.

He seemed to jump a little at the touch, he got past the surprise and enveloped your hand in his.

"I'm sorry if I woke you up my love."

You smiled a little before croaking out "You don't need to apologise Anakin, I've slept long enough."

He didn't mean to wake you, but he was so happy to hear your voice again after the day he's had. All day he fantasised coming home to you and holding you gently while he listened to your sweet voice talk all about your dreams and anywhere you wished to visit in your lifetime, anything, as long as it was you speaking and no one else. He could listen to your precious self talk about everything and he'd listen.

"Did you just come back?" He didn't notice you sit up and take both his hands in yours, he must be out of it he thought.

"I have," he sighed thinking about what had went down earlier and that thought didn't sit well with him, making his anger from earlier return, he focused back on the feeling of you delicate hands rubbing the palms of his hands, easing him.

"The mission turned out to be longer than expected, you wouldn't think a task on Coruscant would be so difficult," he spoke calmly but you could tell how he wasn't happy with being stuck on "padawan" missions as he'd call it when he was Jedi knight and soon to hopefully, be ranked Master.

"I don't want to dwell on it much more my love, now that I'm here with you, my heart is content," his voice dropped lower as held your hands up to his lips and gracefully pressed soft kisses on them.
