"As of today, I, Shinji Kamuro, resign from my position as student council president."

The crowd erupts into hushed whispers at his words. He's been the president for the entire year so far, so for him to resign so suddenly is quite a shock. Shigeo turns his head, giving Ari a look. She looks back at him with an equally bewildered expression.

"Recently, and of my own accord, I spread false rumors about certain students and wrongfully accused them of crimes. I take full responsibility for that. I've caused great distress to everyone that was involved. Thank you for your understanding." He bows his head and steps off the podium before walking off the stage. His fellow Student Council members follow after him, but they look equally as confused as everyone else is.

As everyone files out of the gymnasium, he thinks about how odd this whole ordeal is. It's true that the next election for president is coming soon, but for him to resign so suddenly is pretty weird. "Kamuro-san said that he spread false rumors about certain students..." He says to Ari, who hums in response. "I had no idea about that."

She gives him a look with a raised brow. "What? I was told that it was a huge ordeal," she remarks. "Like, the whole school was aware of it... You know Haru, right? She told me that he went absolutely ballistic and spread rumors about Onigawara being a pervert and stuff. You didn't hear anything about it? Not even from Ritsu?"

He blinks slowly, trying to wrack his brain for any sort of memory of that. Ritsu didn't mention anything about the rumors, but this was a time before they talked about anything that wasn't surface level. But he's always out of the loop with everything else on top of it. "No, I didn't."

"Huh. I guess we're both just learning this secondhand," she laughs a little. "It feels nice to not be alone."

Her laugh is pretty...

At the end of the school day, they say their temporary goodbyes and go to their respective clubs as per usual. But, to his surprise, when he walks into the Body Improvement Club room, he finds Mezato with the usual faces that linger there. "Mezato-san? What are you doing here?" He asks, setting his bag on the floor with everyone else's.

She looks at him with a determined smile, putting her hands on her hips. "As I'm sure you are aware, Kamuro-san has resigned from his position as president!" She prefaces. "So, with the election coming so soon, there is a whole lot more room for people who want to become the head of the school. So, what do you think about becoming a candidate?"

He looks at her for a moment. Well, he can't say that it necessarily surprises him. Mezato's a bright person that has a good head on her shoulders... so she'd be a pretty good fit. "So you're going to run, Mezato-san?"

"Not me, Mob!" She exclaims in an exasperated manner. "You! I was asking if you were going to run!"

"Oh... but I'm already running." He turns on his heel and begins jogging away. "We're going on a 10k today. See you later."

"W-Wait! Hang on for a second!"

But it's too late. He goes right onto the field where he rightly belongs and runs a great deal behind the other Body Improvement Club members. He's grateful that they keep checking on him by whipping their heads around to look at him every so often, though.

The next day, he's sort of left to his own devices since one of the Art Club members had some business to discuss with Ari. He walks to their classroom alone, though he finds himself stopping dead in his tracks when he sees Tsubomi coming from the other direction. Her eyes meet his own for a brief moment before she keeps going forward.

Ah, our eyes met... He thinks. Strange. I don't feel anything like I used to.

"Mob."

He nearly jumps out of his skin and whips around, finding Mezato standing right behind him. How long was she right there? He puts his hand on his heart like that will make it stop beating so quickly. "M-Mezato-san?!"
