The Art Club's exhibition is finally here. It's something that Ari and the rest of the club have worked incredibly hard for, and she was excited about it... but now, she's feeling really nervous! She's not too sure if it has to do with the anticipation, or if it's the fact that they're expecting quite a crowd. Such is the punishment for when you make friends with so many people, she supposes.
She finds her hands trembling a little bit as she puts the pieces she made up on the easels. Given the fact that she's a digital artist, they had to get a local print shop to print her work out. The work that she once was so happy with... now, she's questioning everything. Is it good enough? Will people like it? She has no idea.
She feels someone wrap their arm around her shoulders and she straightens her back. She looks over, relaxing a little bit when she sees it's just Haru. "Why the long face, huh? You've got nothing to worry about," Haru says, admiring the piece she just put up. "Your art is something to be praised, Ari. Don't sweat it so much."
"Thanks, Haru," she smiles, feeling a little bit better with the reassurance. She glances over at where Haru's lovely creations are, a soft chuckle leaving her. "You really went ahead and made a sculpture of a UFO abducting a cow just because of Tome, didn't you?"
"What can I say? Her passion inspired me."
"I bet she's got you by the heartstrings."
"Don't be silly. Nobody's ever got me by the heartstrings."
"Liar."
That gets her an arm wrapped around her neck and a harsh ruffle of the hair, something that she lets out a squeal of protest at. She bats her hands at her. "No fair, no fair! This is assault! I could totally report you for violent assault!" She exclaims playfully.
"No assaulting until after the exhibition is done, Haru," Takuya, being the smartass he is, remarks while pacing with a clipboard in his hand.
"What are you looking at, President?" Haru asks, finally releasing her and leaving her to soothe her hair down with a pout.
"Ah, I'm just waiting for the food and drinks to be delivered... then we'll have everything ready."
"Club budgets really are no joke here," Ari says in wonder. "In my experience, none of the clubs in my schools got any budget unless they were sports related. Even the teachers had to buy their own supplies for classes."
"You know, the more you talk about your home country, the more it sounds like a dystopia," Takuya furrows his brow in concern.
"I wouldn't say you're far off there."
Kei comes walking in with his hands full with a couple of big tins stacked upon one another. It's obvious that it's a tad bit too heavy for him with the way he's stumbling a little bit and breathing heavily. He trudges to the big table where the food is to be placed and plops them down with a relieved sigh.
Onigawara comes in right after him, carrying double what Kei was with ease. He sets them down and begins setting up the burners to go under the holders to keep them hot.
"Hi, Josuke-kun," Ari sing-songs from her spot, giving a little finger wave, to which he grumbles under his breath but doesn't protest the silly nickname. He probably has learned that it's a losing battle.
"You sure ordered a lot of food, Mrs. Shadow Leader," he snarks right back.
"It wasn't me, it was Takuya! We're expecting a big crowd today - and what do you mean Mrs. Shadow Leader?" She protests, her cheeks turning pink in response.
"You know damn well why I'm calling you that." He looks at her over his shoulder, smirking. "When are you guys gonna finally bite the bullet and get together already, huh?"
