"Well, this is a surprise. You never ask me out for drinks."

Micah looks up from the drink sitting in front of him when he hears the familiar voice of Reigen. He looks at him for a moment before his gaze returns back to his beverage. "Yeah, I'm aware," he mutters.

"No shitty remark? And here I thought you were going to try to poison me."

"There would be more effective ways to kill you."

"Gee, thanks."

He sits in the barstool just beside him, ridding himself of his suit jacket and draping it over his lap instead. He waves the bartender down and puts his pointer finger up. "One lemon sour, please," he requests, to which the bartender nods and goes to make his drink.

It doesn't take long for his lemon sour to be put in front of him, and he picks it up before taking a swig. They sit there in silence for a moment, somewhat awkwardly at that, before Reigen peeks at him from the corner of his eye. With a heavy sigh, he sets his drink down and speaks. "Alright, spill. What's going on?"

Micah is quiet for a moment more, bringing his vodka cranberry to his lips and taking a small sip. "It's about Ari," he mutters. He takes the little draw that came with the drink and stirs it absentmindedly. "She took that whole situation with Mogami incredibly hard. If I'd known that it would have been like this, I wouldn't have even taken her."

Reigen's eyes soften a little bit. "That whole thing really scared her, huh? Well, can't blame her. That spirit was quite the terror."

"That's not it. She was upset because she felt like she was unable to help Mob and keep him safe. I tried to tell her that she shouldn't worry about it, and that she should just focus on being a kid, but..." His frown deepens. "I guess I accidentally made her feel invalidated, and she ran away. Since then, she's been distancing herself from me. Even on jobs... has Mob ever done something like that with you?"

He stares at him for a moment before he lets out a snort, putting on that smug little persona they both know isn't completely real. "Heh, well, can't say I relate to you there. My Mob is a perfect little angel, don't you know? He never gets angry at me and goes along with everything I say!"

"Sounds like you want a little puppet instead of a student," he scowls.

But the man only shrugs with a roll of his eyes and calls out for another lemon sour. Really, though, Micah knows that this is partially his fault for expecting Reigen to take anything seriously if it doesn't pertain to himself. Maybe a part of him was just hoping for some understanding. Sure, he has friends outside of Ari, but it's not like they'd get it... so who else would he have to lean on?

Unfortunately for him, Reigen also happens to be a complete lightweight. Two lemon sours become four, and then he's totally plastered. He's even harder to deal with now, stumbling over his words and laughing obnoxiously at things that aren't even funny. "You look sooo ugly when you scrunch your nose like that, hehe..." He reaches out with a shaky hand, booping him on the nose.

Micah growls, grabbing his hand and shoving it back into himself. "You're the most annoying man I have ever met."

"And yyyyet you still bring me to drinks! I bet you called me over here 'cause you have no friends, and I'm the only person you have!" He slurs.

He grits his teeth, slamming his now empty cup onto the table. "Suck my dick, Arataka!"

"Don't threaten me with - hic - with a good time."

He immediately falters, his eyes widening. He feels a warmth flood his cheeks that definitely isn't from the alcohol. "... what."

"You heard me," Reigen reiterates, cupping his cheek and trying to balance his elbow on the table, only to completely miss and nearly fall off his chair.
