I sat back in my seat, overcome by fear.

"Cash." I whispered.

"Stay silent. Let me do the talking." He said.

I nodded, slowly.

A cop slowly approached the car, and knocked on Cash's window.

He rolled it down.

"License and registration, please." The cop said.

"Good afternoon." Cash said, sternly.

The cop just stared back at him.

Cash reached in front of me, into the glove compartment of the car. He pulled out some papers and his ID from his wallet.

He handed them to the cop.

The cop looked over the papers and the license.

"I'm going to need you to step out of your vehicle."

"For what reason?"

"Sir, I'm going to need you to step out of your vehicle."

"Cash.." I whispered.

"Be quiet." He said, sternly.

He unbuckled his seat belt and stepped out of the car.

The cop quickly grabbed Cash's arms and held them behind his back, pulling out a pair of handcuffs

Surprisingly, Cash didn't thrash.

The cop cuffed Cash's wrists, "You are under arrest."

"Clearly," Cash muttered.

I pushed open my door and ran around to Cash.

"Get back in the car, Lillian," Cash said, coldly.

The cop started tugging Cash towards his car.

"Why are you taking him?" I asked.

"That's confidential information." The cop stated.

"Where are you taking him?" I asked, as the man pushed Cash into the back seat of the car.

"Colton County State Prison." The officer replied, coldly.

With that, he climbed into his car and drove away with my cousin in tow.

I blinked back tears as I stood in my driveway, trying to figure out what to do.

He sent Connor to his house, there must be something there.

I contemplated taking his car, but if the police followed him here, that wouldn't be the best idea.

I took the keys out of the ignition and locked the doors.

I turned round and double checked the locks on the front door of my house, before taking off in the opposite direction.

Running has never been my strongest sport. I can only do it for so long. If you used my name and "sport" in the same sentence, you would either be talking about swimming, karate, or tennis. Not running. Yet, with the picture of my favorite cousin sitting in a jail cell forming in my mind, there was adrenaline pumping in my veins and I was running like I was on fire.

I down know how long it took for Cash's neighborhood to come into view, but by then, the back of my legs burned.

I ran up to the front door and forced it open, praying Connor was already here.

I panted, staring up at him.

He had the softest look on his face.

I could tell he was ready to say something, but with the picture of Cash still in my mind, I didn't have the patience to hear it.
