Chapter 32

^Connor's P.O.V.^

I woke up with a start and rolled over in bed.

I brushed my teeth and showered.

Running outside, I hopped in my car, and drove to the skating rink to make sure everything was set up.

Pushing open the big doors, I walked inside.

"Hey, Con!" Mike yelled from across the rink.

Everyone turned to me and smiled.

"Good morning, everyone! Thank you for coming early." I smiled.

"Connor! The candles are in the back!" A young girl yelled, coming up to me.

"Hello, what's your name?" I asked her.

"I'm Kelsey." She smiled.

"Well, that's a very pretty name. Thank you, Kelsey."

"You're welcome!" She said, skating away.

"Okay, so the kitchen is set up for your friend." Mike said.

"I need to thank Taylor again for letting us use her kitchen."

"Yup, she says you owe her." He smiled.

"Great.." I said, sarcastically.

"Thank you guys again! I really appreciate this!" I yelled out.

Everyone smiled and nodded at me.

"Well, everything's set up here. Go get your girl. She's in for a surprise." Mike winked.

I patted his shoulder and ran out of the rink.

I quickly drove home.

I walked up to the front door and headed inside.

"Morning!" Jen cheered.

"Good morning!" I smiled.

"I can't wait to wear my chef hat!" She smiled, excitedly.

"Yeah, thanks a lot for this. Really, I'm grateful." I smiled.

"Lilly's my best friend and she's never been on a date before. I'm happy to help." She said, walking upstairs to Jc's room.

"Remember, act normal and casual, okay?"

"Got it!" She smiled.

"Wait! What's Lilly's skate size?" I asked.

"Six in skates!" She yelled, walking down the hall.

"Thanks!" I yelled back.

I walked downstairs to Lilly's room.

I pushed open the door, after a few unanswered knocks.

She looks so peaceful and beautiful when she's sleeping.

She doesn't sleep with her eyes fully closed.

Her eyes are cracked a little bit, so I can see a small bit of her pupils.

Her hair is wild around her head and she's squeezing the covers in between her fingers.

I walked over to her and knelt by her bedside.

"Lilly.." I whispered.

"Sweetheart, wake up."

Hey eyes shot open and she jumped up.

"Connor!" She yelled, throwing her arms around me.

"Good morning to you too!" I smiled, hugging her.
