Chapter 26

^Connor's P.O.V.^

"What?!" Ricky exclaimed.

"Yeah, umm...big events kinda took place in PacSun"

"You don't say! What happened?! Leave out any detail and I will shove this taco up your nose!"

"Okay, okay!" I said in surrender. "We ran into Lilly's ex boyfriend and Amber."

"Lilly's ex and your ex?! Wow, that's a giant coincidence. I think the universe it trying to tell you something! What are they both doing here anyway? Something's fishy!"

"Well, I went into the store for a blue shirt and Amber grabbed it before I could. She started talking to me but when I looked back at Lilly, she looked really scared of the guy in front of her. She said it was Josh and ran off and he started chasing her. I might've...umm..pulled him back and punched him in the face.."

"No Way!! You?! I didn't know you had it in you, buddy!"

"Why is everyone so surprised? Am I that weak?"

"Nah, not at all. You're just not a violent person. It's not exactly a bad thing but at least I know not to steal your beanies anymore while your sleeping..." He said trailing off.

"That was you?! So the Beanie Burglar isn't real?!" I cried.

"I'm ashamed." he said smiling.

We laughed and I looked up at Lilly.

She's standing in line behind a tall guy with long hair. They're talking.

I'm staring at them intently and I can't hear what they're saying but I can improvise.

Lilly looks flustered like she was caught with her hand in the cookie jar and tall guy seems confident.

She rolls her eyes at him.

'My have the toy sent' she says looking annoyed.

'What does that even mean, Connor?' My brain asked

'And there you car flying too, like I care" tall guy says with a smug face.

"I wet his hair is as loft as nine..."

'You can't possibly be reading them right!' My brain remarked.

"I know, shut up!"

"Connor, finish the story." Ricky said, wiping his mouth.

"Oh, right...umm" I looked at Lilly and tall guy one more time to see Lilly point to the empty line, tall guy move up to the cashier, and him point to Lilly while saying something I couldn't catch.

"Umm..well, Josh got knocked out and Amber went off on me and Lilly came back in the store and went to help Amber with Josh."

"Didn't she just run away from Josh and now she's helping him?"

"Hold on, we're getting to that. Lilly introduced herself to Amber and they shook hands"

"Eww" Ricky said, scrunching his nose.

"Tell me about it. Well, they put him on the bench then Amber went off on me. Calling me pathetic and accusing me of being jealous and stupid. I kindly put her in her place but Lilly was still confused and Amber insulted her. Which I'm still pissed about, and Josh woke up. He explained that his name is Jerry, and he's a football star that no one's heard of. Fans crowded Lilly and I for pictures and stuff. Amber and Jerry took the pictures. Lilly explained that everything was misunderstood and I was forced to give him one of my merch bracelets even after he recognized me from the incident."
