Chapter 24

^Connor's P.O.V.^

Recap:

I reached out for it but someone else grabbed it before I could. I looked up and the last person on earth that I wanted to see.

"Amber?"

'No, Billy Joel!' My brain said sarcastically.

Amber looked shocked but calm.

"Hi, Connor"

I had to look away, she was bringing back old messed up memories and I couldn't handle it.

I looked over at Lilly, scared about what I'd see. Lilly was frozen in her spot but she wasn't looking at me, or even Amber.

She was looking straight ahead at a certain guy, her eyes wide filled with fear and confusion.

"Josh?!!"

I looked up at the guy and remembered him instantly!

'HIM!!!', my brain yelled.

He looked confused then his face changed to another emotion.

Interest.

Lilly started tearing up as he stepped closer to her.

She made a run for it and he started to chase after her.

My body filled with complete rage. All sense went out the window.

I side-stepped Amber and grabbed Josh. I pulled him back with everything in me and punched him in his face as hard as I could.

My knuckles throbbed and I closed my eyes in pain.

'Damn! Connor you just knocked him out!!'

I opened my eyes to see Josh asleep on the floor and rubbed my hand.

Amber glared at me and if looks could kill, I'd have 75 knives in my chest right now.

She knelt beside Josh like he was everything to her.

I scrunched up my face in pain, yet disgust. I don't even know what to feel.

"C-Connor"

I looked up at Lilly and once I saw her face, I felt tinge of remorse.

"Oh, Lilly! I'm sorry- I just- He was there, and he started chasing after you- and I remembered your face when you told me what he did to you- I just saw red! I'm so sorry!- I-" I said stuttering and rambling.

"You punched him for me?" She asked, in a small voice.

"Yeah" I said with my voice sounding rugged.

Even so, I wouldn't take back what I did.

She nodded slowly and looked down at Josh.

She seemed to be lost in thought.

"What is she thinking about?! Does she hate me?!" I asked myself.

'Ehh, well you did just punch her ex boyfriend in the face.' my brain said, matter of factly.

"Not now, brain!"

'Okay, jeez!'

Lilly walked over and knelt beside Amber.

Would you look at that?

My ex girlfriend and girlfriend are kneeling beside my girlfriend's ex boyfriend, who I just knocked out.

The universe really hates me, doesn't it?!

"Jerry, wake up!" Amber yelled.

'Jerry?! Who the hell is Jerry?! ' my brain screamed.
