- Leah's POV -

I'm home. After all this time, I'm finally home on my pack land. I expected to feel a rush of excitement and comfort and I'm disappointed when I don't feel it. Nothing has changed since I've been gone. The houses still look the same, my pack is still here, and everything is just as I left it.

Warm arms wrap possessively around my stomach, and Will rests his chin on the top of my head. His chest is pressed firmly against my back and sigh in content. It's in this moment that I realize that it's me that has changed; not my pack. I turn around slowly to face Will. I don't feel the ties binding me to my pack or Alpha Caine anymore and it's all because of Will; my handsome, wonderful mate.

It doesn't seem possible but he pulls me even closer into his chest, as if he could fuse us together as one. He presses his nose into the side of my neck and his warm breath ruffles my hair as he breathes in my scent. Will is my home now.

"Leah," A male voice orders.

Will growls threateningly and I can feel the sound vibrating from his chest. I can feel the tips of claws dig into my back as he begins to shift. I quickly glance over Will's shoulder and see my Alpha watching us warily.

"It's okay, it's just Alpha Caine," I soothed.

I gently placed my hands on either side of Will's face and pulled his head closer so our noses were almost touching. I stared into the black eyes of his wolf and purred softly. He cocked his head to the side as he listened to the soft sound vibrating from my chest. His wolf had been in charge ever since we left the tunnels, and he didn't seem to be giving up the reigns to Will anytime soon.

"It's okay, I'm right here," I whispered. "I'm not going anywhere."

Will grunted in agreement. His claws retracted until all I could feel was the tips of his fingers on my lower back.

Now might not be the best time, I sent to my Alpha.

From my peripheral I could see his head nod and he quietly backed up and disappeared between the trees.

A yawn suddenly forced it's way out, and I leaned my forehead on Will's shoulder.

Will's wolf growled and he quickly scooped me up in his arms and carried me towards our room.

As soon as we were in sight, my pack jumped up to greet me causing Will to growl and tighten his grip on me. They immediately backed off in fear, and I waved over Will's shoulder as we passed by them. I was happy to see them but I'm glad Will was here to fend them off for right now. I needed sleep before I could face the questions my pack had for me.

Will shouldered open the door and carried me up the stairs as if I didn't weigh more than a feather. He paused when he got to our door and gently let my feet touch the ground. I looked up at him but he stared at the door with a haunted expression on his face. I pushed the door open and walked into our room.

I froze.

The room was a disaster! The bed was unmade, one of the pillows was torn to shreds, and my clothes were everywhere. Soft down feathers from the pillow covered every inch of the room. Will's wolf whined guiltily.

I turned around slowly and looked into his sad eyes.

"You did this?" I asked in disbelief.

He scratched the back of his neck and avoided eye contact. I tiptoed around the clothes until I reached the bed. I quickly dusted off some of the feathers and threw the clothes onto the floor.

At least the sheets are fine, I thought.

I sat on the bed and pulled the sheets up to my waist as I leaned against the headboard. Will hadn't moved from the doorway but his eyes watched my every move.
