Once In A Blue Moon

Chapter Thirteen

A nagging sensation in the back of my mind slowly brought me out of my deep sleep.

I opened my eyes and immediately regretted it. I slammed my eyes shut and threw my arm over my face to shield myself from the sunlight. I groaned and tried to turn away but couldn't move. I lifted my head and squinted.

A large black wolf was snoring softly on my legs. His furry head was pressed against my stomach and his giant paws were trapping me on either side of my body. I smiled and ran my hand through Will's fur close to his ear. His snoring stopped and he purred.

The purr comforted my wolf and I. I felt safe and at home. I hadn't felt that way since my parents had died...

The pressure increased in my head.

I opened the mind link slowly. Immediately, several voices were yelling in my head.

LEAH, YOU ANSWER ME THIS INSTANCE! OR I SWEAR I WILL--

I ORDER YOU TO RE--

LEAH WHERE ARE YOU--

I TOLD YOU NOT TO MESS WITH--

The voices all blurred into one mess, making my head pound. I clutched my head as it threatened to explode. I felt Will shift as he raised his head to look at me.

Suddenly the voices stopped. I hesitantly opened my eyes and moved my hands away from my head; waiting for the voices to burst through again.

Better? Will asked.

I smiled and nodded. He crawled up my body and rested his chin on my chest so he could look right into my eyes.

What do they want? He asked softly.

"They probably want me to return home." I said.

Will's eyes turned black and he growled dangerously. I flinched at his sudden mood swing. He threw himself off of me and paced while keeping me in his sight. I sat up slowly.

"Will, I have to go back." I tried to explain.

No, he growled. Your home is with me.

"You're not going to make this easy are you?" I mumbled.

He just growled in answer. I slowly stood and dusted the grass off of my torn dress. I looked down and plucked at the holes in my once golden dress. It was now a dirty yellow. I looked up to see that Will had stopped pacing and had froze entirely. His eyes were locked on my legs. I glanced down to see that my dress was torn up both sides, showing lots of leg and thigh.

I took a step back which caused my dress to shift and show more leg. Will purred at the sight. His eyes were still dark, but this time it was with lust. Will raised a paw to step forward but before he had a chance to put it down, I bolted.

Will was left stunned for a second but I heard his growl of frustration as he began to chase after me. I laughed at the exhilarating feeling of my mate chasing me. My wolf was yipping with excitement. I zigzagged through the trees, trying to confuse my mate, but I knew that he would eventually catch up to me.

A fallen tree caught my attention. I quickly jumped over it and laid down so my back was pressed against it. I covered my nose with my hands to muffle the sounds of my breathing. My heart was thumping rapidly in my chest with anticipation.

I listened quietly for the sound of my mate, but the forest was unusually silent. I cautiously lifted my head, waiting for him. After several minutes I began to get worried.

He should have found me by now, I thought.

I screamed as a warm breath blew across the back of my neck.

I bolted to my feet but Will gently tackled me to the ground. I tried to crawl away but Will flopped down onto my back, effectively crushing me into the ground. I groaned under his weight.

"Will," I groaned.

He harrumphed. I tried to wiggle out from underneath him which caused him to growl playfully. He nuzzled the back of my neck, sending shivers down my spine.

"Will I have to go back." I sighed which caused him to go into another fit of growls.

I slowly turned and Will eased off enough to let me roll onto my back. I looked up into his blue eyes that were filled with so much love and affection it made my heart swell with happiness. I placed my hand on the side of his head and he pressed his wet nose into my palm.

"But you are right on one thing," I said softly. I could see the confusion written clearly on his face. "My home is with you."

His tongue rolled out of his mouth and he gave me a wolfy grin. He nuzzled my neck with affection.

Fine, you can go back, he agreed.

I smiled.

But... My smile froze and I waited.

You can only go back if you agree to my terms...

Hey guys, so I wanted to give you something to read since I haven't updated in a while. Sorry it's short but today's my birthday and I don't have enough time to write today. I will definitely update tomorrow though!
