I can't believe we're at the twentieth chapter already! I just want to quickly appologize for how long it took me to update. Between school, work, and hockey, I just haven't had any time to write.

Please remember to vote, comment, and fan! Thanks!

- Leah's POV -

I ran towards him and immediately wrapped my arms around his neck. His arms automatically went around my back and pulled me closer to his chest. I pressed my cheek against the soft fabric of his shirt and breathed in his familiar scent.

"Mason," I sighed in relief.

He chuckled and the sound vibrated through his body. I pulled away and looked up into his friendly grey eyes. I glanced around his shoulder; trying to see out into the hall behind him.

"Where's Will? Is the pack here?" I asked quickly. Just the thought of my mate had my heart racing with anticipation. I needed him like I needed air to breath, or my wolf to survive. He was my everything.

Mason's smile slowly faded and he ran a hand through his hair nervously.

"No, it's just me." He answered.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Did you sneak in?"

"No."

"I don't... understand..." I spoke slowly.

I pulled out of Mason's grasp and took a step back. Mason watched me carefully, his hands stretched out to me.

"It's going to be okay Leah." He coaxed. "No one is going to hurt you."

For every step he took closer, I took a step back.

"Mason, what's going on?" I asked hesitantly.

The back of my knees hit the table and I quickly skirted around it, keeping my eyes locked on Mason. My wolf was still absent, but my human senses were telling me something was wrong.

"Leah, let's just sit down and I will explain everything."

"No!" I screamed. "Tell me now."

Mason sighed loudly. His face was scrunched up in frustration and hurt. He pinched the bridge of his nose. I recognized that gesture, I had grown up with it. Whenever we were little and I would test his patience, he would always reach up and repeat that gesture. He learned that habit when he mimicked his dad...

"Leah, I can explain--" He started, but I had already heard enough. I bunched my muscles and sprinted past him to the door. He reached out but I had already taken him by surprise. As I passed by him, I elbowed him hard in the ribs for good measure. He grunted and hunched over, holding his side as he groaned in  pain.

I raced down the hall, trying to find my way through the twisted series of turns. I barely took notice of the red painted walls and white doors with white trim. My muscles ached quickly without the help of my wolf to lend me energy. It was literally like someone had sucked out all the energy in my body.

I panted as I came to a fork in the hallways, I hesitated but took a left and sprinted down the hall. My bare feet slapped against the cold concrete floor.

Just as I started to go around the bend, I heard voices. I froze as two very large men came into view. They were arguing and I decided to use their distraction to my advantage. I turned to run back the way I came but the blond man looked up at that moment and made eye contact. His wild eyes met mine and I immediately knew he was a rogue.

"Hey!" He barked.

I jolted into action and raced back down the hall. My lungs started to burn but I forced myself to push forward.

I didn't have time to register the arm before it slammed into my chest. My back slammed against the concrete ground and my head bounced twice, jerking my neck in the process. I clutched at my chest and struggled to draw air into my lungs. My head pounded in pain, causing dots to dance across my vision. Air wheezed painfully out of my throat. I thrashed around, my legs scraping against the cold ground.

The blond rogue with the shaggy blond hair and tan skin stepped into my blurry vision. I recognized him from when he had demanded my Alpha for permission to cross the territory. His black eyes travelled hungrily down my body and I shivered in disgust.

Mason appeared from around the corner and jogged towards me. He immediately dropped to his knees and touched my head gently. His hands came back covered in blood; my blood.

"What did. You. Do?" I managed to choke out to him.

His pained grey eyes was the last thing I saw before my vision went black.
