One year later...
1 Year. 12 months. 52 weeks. 365 days. 8,760 hours. 525,600 minutes. 31,536,000 seconds. It had been a year without any word of Grindelwald – apart from his growing popularity across Europe. It had been a year without the slightest piece of information on Credence. A year of being completely blind.
Despite the constant hole in my heart. Theseus and I had settled into our domesticity quickly, and there was nothing about us that didn't make sense. One could never get bored of Theseus Scamander.
I lay against his chest, the early morning sun shining down on us. His breath even, I knew that he slept still. Pulling my head back, I noted the slight stubble on his chin, running a thumb across his cheek.
Smiling, I leaned up to kiss him gently. He stirred. "Good morning," he managed, harbouring his own smile.
"Hi."
When his eyes opened, Theseus' smile widened. "I never get tired of waking up next to you."
"Because I am so beautiful in the morning," I jested, bending my arm to lean my head on my hand. "I look a sight."
His own hand reaching up to hold the side of my face, he kissed me lightly. "A perfect sight."
Cringing, I pulled away and turning to stand up. "You, good sir, need to brush your teeth before you kiss me again."
He pulled at the sides of the naked torso. Things had quickly gotten out of hand the night before after he came in late from work. He was always taking about the Ministry, about the Dark Wizards he caught, and he had even started to become excited by the paperwork that he had to do.
Having been made Auror after New York, I had thought that my journey was complete. I was finally what I always wanted to be, but I had been questioning that recently. Had I truly chosen to be an Auror simply because Albus had told me that I could not do it?
"Come back," he dragged but I was already throwing a gown on.
"I have work to do."
"No you don't."
"You have work to do."
"Yes," he agreed, sitting up and pulling at my waist to drag me back towards him.
Theseus pushed himself on top of me, pinning my hands to the bed. "I do have work to do." Pinning both wrists with one hand, his fingers pulled apart the sides of my dressing gown, exposing my chest. "Whoops."
I smiled. "Like what you see?"
He kissed me again, and this time I didn't care for the bad breath nor the work that I had to do.
"I love what I see. I love you."
I smiled against his lips, breaking to reply. "Are you using me for my body?"
He dropped his head to place a kiss against my neck. "Almost definitely."
We didn't leave the bed that day.

On a particularly dull morning, I was making us a morning cup of tea while he sat at the countertop with a stack of papers in hand.
"I don't understand why we still have to write things down. Surely magic has a better way of doing this," he complained, moving behind me as I poured the hot water.
