The sun reached its summit only a couple hours ago, now it gradually rolled down the dome of the clear blue sky. Rays of the late afternoon sun bathed the tan storefront of the small electronic repair shop. The sound of the AC rattling as it tried to keep down the summer heat hummed in the background as a couple of customers browsed the phone case selection displayed on one of the white metal wall shelves. Their heels squeaked on the dirty linoleum floor as they chattered and pointed at the various options.

One object was a young child, a yellow and green water gun. Her smile wide and bright as she browsed the rather limited selection. Her father, a grey and red water sprinkler, seemed equally enthusiastic on her behalf. After a short while she settled on a navy blue case with glittery lavender butterflies fluttering across the back.

Together, they approached one of the counters at the back of the tiny store. Behind the tall gray desk sat a very bored looking colored pencil case, slowly spinning herself around on a cheap black mesh desk chair. She perked up slightly once she saw the pair was heading her way.

She stood up with an amicable smile and greeted them, "Good afternoon."

"Good afternoon," The dad nodded and smiled in return, plopping the phone case down on the counter.

"Did you find everything alright?" Isla asked as she scanned the barcode on the case.

"Yes!" The girl chirped happily. "Do you like my new phone case? I got my first phone today!"

"How fun. And yes, I think it's very pretty." Isla agreed as she slipped it into a small brown paper bag and handed it to the dad as he swiped his card.

"Thank you," He nodded, taking the receipt and then heading out. As they were walking toward the door, they passed Simeon, who was humming as he swept the floor. The little girl waved at him as she walked by.

He looked up and waved back, "Welcome in!"

The girl burst into a giggling fit, "We're leaving!"

"Ok. Welcome out." he smiled and kept waving, causing the girl to laugh even more.

Bradley stood behind the second desk, wrapping up a phone call. As he hung up, he glanced around the store, and seeing no one there, he called out, "Alright, time for lunch break."

Isla grinned and muttered under her breath, "Finally!"

"Hey Simeon, could you hang up the sign and lock the door real quick?" Bradley asked as he headed toward the back to inform Aaron.

"Hah, he said my name," the purple tissue box chuckled to himself as he set the broom to the side and went to put the "Closed for Lunch" sign on the door.

Isla shot him a weirded out side eye, "What else would he call you?"

"He could call me by not my name," Simeon answered with an aloof expression, "Like Simon, or Bob, or Todd, or Carl, or Tissues."

"Tissues?" Isla questioned, immediately wondering why she was continuing this conversation.

"Tissues is my name when Aaron talks, but it's not my name. Hah. Aaron is fun. I gave him an apple. Did you know apples are made of apples?" Simeon rambled aimlessly as he went to get his lunch from behind the desk opposite of Isla.
