Lam walked out of the classroom without waiting for either Forth or Park when lunch break came.
Park was taken aback. "Hey, Lam! Wait!"
Forth blinked. Beam's words echoed in his ears.
"You know about them, but why haven't you done anything about it?"
Well, Forth wasn't one to pry, and he wasn't sure Lam wanted him to do anything about it either. If Lam was angry, he'd seal his lips. Just as he did with Park. But Park didn't understand. As expected, because Lam had never really been angry with Park. He might say something harsh or to Park, but Park had never felt Lam's anger before. Never.
"He's mad at you," Forth said as Park almost reached the door.
Park turned around. "What? Who?"
"Lam. Lam's mad at you," Forth repeated. He had already tidied up his books but still sat in his seat, staring at Park who was frozen near the door.
Park laughed in confusion. "What? I didn't do anything..." He tried to recall anything he did in the morning. He didn't even joke about anything.
"He thinks you like Beam," Forth said.
Park burst into laughter at that. "Haha. Seriously? Didn't you hear yourself? Why would I like him? He's annoying."
Forth blinked. "You said you'd miss him this morning."
"Hell yeah... For the first time in my life, someone is actually a bigger problem than me." Park said. "Besides, I wouldn't touch what my friend has. As annoying as you are, you're still my friend."
Forth furrowed his brow. "Why are we talking about me? We're talking about you and Beam."
Park rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I'm going to catch up to Lam."
"Maybe this is the time to tell him how you feel," Forth said, stopping Park in his tracks again.
Park stared at Forth, this time with a cold anger. "Hey. Don't go there."
Forth met Park's gaze. "Why? Because he'll know if someone says it to him but he's too dumb to realize how you treat him like your boyfriend...?!"
"Forth! I warned you!! If he finds out he'll..."
"If he finds out, he'll be happy and won't misunderstand that you like Beam more than him?"
"I don't like Beam!"
"He thinks you do!"
"Tsk." Park clicked his tongue.
"Everyone knows about your feelings for Lam. Even some seniors and juniors think you two are already dating." Forth said. "It could last forever, but not this time. He thinks you like Beam."
Park looked at Forth. He shook his head.
"Lam likes you too. He lets you treat him like he's your boyfriend. He just doesn't do anything about it because he doesn't want to end up like one of your exes. But he doesn't switch because he likes you too much."
"No, he doesn't. Why would he like me?"
"Oh, I hope he doesn't!" Forth exclaimed in frustration. "But he does, and he's starting to move on... Starting now because he thinks you're starting to like someone for real!! And when he's done moving on, then there's no way to get him back. You'll lose him. Forever!!"
